you could jack up the resolutions on CRTs to some insane resolutions too I had a 19 inch CRT jacked up to 1600x1200 at one point in time
you could jack up the resolutions on CRTs to some insane resolutions too I had a 19 inch CRT jacked up to 1600x1200 at one point in time
I'm pretty sure they didn't actually display at that res. I don't know exactly how CRTs work but I remember that it looked horrible at those high resolutions.
My friend is convinced that a quantum computer doesn't need to brute force (when code cracking) in the same manner as a computer, because it just "calculates the probability of the key" or some such shit to find the key without doing as many guesses as a regular computer. Seriously smells like bullshit he just invented, but I'm no expert. Someone help?

Someone help?
As far as I know, a quantum computer basically "guesses" the result shitloads, and you pick the answer that came up the most. You go from certainty, and trying to keep a chip as stable as possible, into probability calculations. Pretty sure I saw in a presentation by the guy who made the first POC quantum "computer", that a quantum computer could factor a typical prime number used in encryption in 10 seconds, whilst a standard computer would take about the age of the universe.

Someone help?
From my knowledge, you use quantum operations to give a qubit the desired wave function, then collapse the wave function into a classical bit, so it would probably entirely possible for some cryptos to calculate the key right off with a known plaintext, e.g via Shor's algorithm [editline]3rd January 2014[/editline] Actually, thats probably very very wrong Fuck now I'm reading about quantum computing again
Ugh I have a Vista laptop to fix, Windows update service isn't running even though it's enabled and running based on the services list.

I honestly would dump my current LCD screen for a Widescreen CRT 1080p monitor. Only thing is that they don't seem to be too common.
In direct competition of DEC for the datacenter alcohol distribution market, Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics have released their own products. The B R E W. I don't think partying with Pentium/MIPS is a very normal experience.
Take it from me. They are EXTREMELY heavy.
Thats a consequence I am willing to live with. Won't be moved ever so its only a few minutes of heaviness to deal with, won't ever be stolen in return and will give me exceptional Colour and contrast and non-fucked with black levels.
And if you opt for a Sony CRT, it might break your desk. I swear those tubes are lined with depleted uranium.
just gotta engage the rotational velocidensity mode in the warp drive and zero out the inhibiting factor and then set your quantum computer on "hack" mode
dont forget to prime your load catches [sp]misspelling intentional[/sp]

Does anyone have a problem where Youtube logs you out for no reason after a certain time? [sp]also i am posting from labpunch[/sp]
coil whine
I hear it when CRTs turn on but its unnoticeable to me once it actually gets going.
doesn't do [sp]spoilers[/sp] 0/10 garry would not spoil again On a serious note though, the only thing it's missing that's actually stopping me from using it as my regular setup is "Go to first unread post"/"xyz new posts" in thread view. Missing avatars, I could probably adjust to, and there's a bunch of cool shit it does that "Stablepunch" doesn't.
Does anyone have a problem where Youtube logs you out for no reason after a certain time? [sp]also i am posting from labpunch[/sp]
also requirements for running labpunch: 128gb of ram seriously though it allocated like 700mb of ram on opera 15 garry needs optimize this shit
I got a pair as well For some reason they are really quiet compared to my previous headphones but when I pump the volume up it's an eargasm [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline] There are so many subtle details in songs that I never got to hear before, it's amazing
Pretty sure thats because they require more power than your old pair.
I forgot how slow EDGE is. Posting is taking a very long time. Also chrome for android is pretty good.
EDGE - When GPRS isn't fast enough.
There's a stretch of road on the way to my uncle's place that only has GPRS, it's impressively slow.
really low ping.
Don't you mean super high ping?
http://www.cyborg.co/shadow/ oh my fucking god.. (from /g/)
EDGE and GPRS refuse to work on my phone, which kinda sucks because the cell reception is so bad where i'm at (central florida). if i move my phone an inch sometimes i'll lose the reception completly, if i move it two inches, i'll get two times the reception i got before.
http://www.cyborg.co/shadow/ oh my fucking god.. (from /g/)

Linux 12.04+
Thats some level of trolling that only /g/ is capable of.
Take it from me. They are EXTREMELY heavy.
i dropped my fw900 on a solid wood floor and pretty much totaled a few panels of wood the crt on the other hand was fine... [editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
I hear it when CRTs turn on but its unnoticeable to me once it actually gets going.
i don't hear it at all maybe i've just gotten used to it
I just got kicked out of offline functionality in a game, because the Steam servers are getting DDoS'd, again.
