Thing is, as we all know, AMD used to use 4 digit format, Nvidia used 3. It WAS easy to just say the number. Now since they're both on 3, shit gets confusing fast. Keep that in mind.
Nvidia used to use 4-digits as well, and there was that brief period of overlap circa GeForce 8000/Radeon 2000.
Speaking of, isn't Nvidia getting close to wrapping around again? Thanks to wasting a bunch of early series on rebadges, they're already three-quarters of the way through the three-digit numbers. Anyone want to bet on their next naming scheme? Obvious bet is going back to four digits, but I'll play the long odds and bet on going away from numbers and relying more on suffixes like "Ti" again.
they should use a system like ikea's

Nvidia always relied on suffixes in that generation, though. "9800 GT" wasn't gonna get confused with "4830".

I want to get a GTX8675309 and name it Jenny

I prefer one digit, with the real meaning being in a suffix. Like GTXJ-9 Wakeman.

It didn't have PPC (Privilege Checking & Correction) memory support.
so preferring the black edition over the white edition isn't? :v:
The white edition was never oppressed into slave channels. It's never had to put up with hardships, and society still favors white editions to this day.
Support editions of color.
trans-socket rights 2014
what's wrong with the white edition???
white edition sounds racist, black edition obviously is fair and equal to all other editions.
