AAC is better in almost every aspect, except for the fact that most Audio I find, is already in MP3, and converting to AAC would be dumb. Maybe I should get some albums in FLAC, and convert it to AAC.

That's what I meant, yeah. AAC was designed to be "MP3 but not shit", and it succeeded. It's the official successor to MP3 and yet it's no where near caught on to where it should be. MP3 is hella obsolete.

MP3 is the quality 10 JPEG of the audio world. That 64kbps can really only be compared to jpeg artefacting.

Mp3s below 320 are crap for rock music. I don't have that many songs so I just use FLAC whenever I can and I also rip CDs.
The Sony compression ATRAC is ok, the sound certainly lacks something like it's been hollowed out, but I can't put my finger on it.

I just use FLAC as a future proofing method, my current Hi-Fi system probably isn't the best in the world and I'm probably going to try and get a hold of some better second-hand equipment in the Spring.
To be honest, it almost depends more on the codec than the bitrate. DAB radio is only 128Kbps but sounds really great.

I wonder what sorts of DAC my Note 2 has. Regardless, my headphones aren't anything remarkable - I use JLab J4's which are decent enough but insanely comfortable (and I got them for like only $5.)
