Reason #982347298 that I'm glad Rogers isn't our city's cable provider:

TL;DR: Rogers measures your LAN traffic toward your internet data cap.
I would imagine its if you have a modem/router combo. Otherwise, I have no idea how they would track data that never even touches the modem.
And even if you did have a combo, you could buy a different wireless router and just plug it straight into the modem/router. Once again, LAN traffic never touches the modem.

anyone knows of a good site with multi-monitor wallpapers? prefer something which is 3600x1080
Would I notice ANY difference in quality on two identical monitors if I ran them both off the same video card, expect one off HDMI and the other off DVI?
I know they're both digital signals but I don't want to be left with an annoying noticeable difference, plus 280X's are extortionate if they have two DVIs because custom PCBs and shit.
I think the only difference is Dvi doesn't carry audio. They might have a different upper limit on the size of the picture they transmit but I can't recall off the top of my head.
[editline]8th January 2014[/editline]
Its the exact same signal.

They're both 1080p, and I have my own audio solution.
I'd just like to check, I shouldn't buy an additional 4gb stick of ram for a laptop, I should buy a set and replace the one currently there?
They're both 1080p, and I have my own audio solution.
Yeah they both do 1080 fine. You won't notice any difference.
I've had one monitor that would, by default, handle the HDMI inputs a little different to the DVI input. Probably to make HDMI look "better" to the consumer lot. Few settings changed and they're identical.
To be clear, at a hardware level DVI can carry audio by sending HDMI over the DVI physical layer. They both have identical electrical characteristics.
This is why modern graphics cards can through digital audio out of their DVI ports, it's pretending to be a HDMI device over a DVI link.

For some reason my AMD card won't. The drivers acknowledge that I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable, but it outright says you need to use the HDMI port for audio. No big deal, since my computer speakers are better than the crappy speakers on my roommate's TV. Weird though, considering what you said is true. Probably another shining example of quality drivers from AMD.
Microsoft "removed" the Windows Experience Index thing in Windows 8.1 apparently, you can't find it where it's supposed to be located, but the executable still exists.
Honestly, did anyone smart ever actually use the damn thing?

no, but some HDMI connections might default to YbCR color so you might have to change that in vide card options for some monitors if your picture is washed out
Decided to show my G4 cube some love and change the HDD and clean the case, I might make it a backup file server later on.

Whoever had it before me was an idiot, just look at the condition it is in. Back when I found it (Early 2009 I think), it even had a Vista install disc in, :I (It was still running OS 9)
Now that I think back at it, I'm pretty amazed at this find. I mean, it's a pretty rare machine and it's the only one of it's kind I've seen in person.

You can't convert audio trough dvi to hdmi, that dosen't work, doesn't have anything to do with drivers. How about you use Display Port.

There's no way you could replicate the chassis of the G4 without ruining the awesome handle eject.

Really? I didn't know that. Is it like DVI-D or whatever? My card doesn't support sound unless It's out through the mini hdmi. :\
I tried with an HDMI adapter on the end of a DVI cable I have to my TV but I didn't get any sound.

I'm not sure on specifics but both my HTPC and studio PC have their sound running through a DVI-HDMI cable. One is on a 560ti into a pair of BX2231.
I seem to recall my old ATI card having a specific option for it but my new PCs have done it automatically.
err actually I used a HDMI cable with a DVI adapter not the other way around. Maybe I just didn't change the output for my sound. :P
