It was designed to slow down typewriter users. But guess what. They didn't succeed. Switching to any drastically different layout is going to slow them down since the time to adjust is enormous. There is no real measure of success for QWERTY and no one seems to get that.

My flatmate tried this, He did get there in the end, But he gave up on his laptop, but he still uses it on his phone since its a great deal faster on there.
I think when people say they typed faster after practising DVORAK or Colemak, it's not because the layout is better, it's because they actually practised it and tried to type faster

Higher densities at small physical area are easier to get high yields at. It's cheaper.

Finished the first few missions, and mostly minded my own business.
I was just driving around randomly, when I heard a little kid moaning over mic. At first I was like wtf.
Then Suddently I heard an older guy talking to the moaning kid. when the old man started moaning too, people on the server started freaking out, just wanting to stop them.
Jesus man that was fucked up. If I knew who the guy was, I'd have called the police or some shit. Jesus...
I have seen/heard many weird shit in my life, but this clearly takes the cake.

They're coming it's just that smaller display technology will mature faster than larger displays. We'll get them, but it's cheaper and much more worthwhile to do it in smaller displays. Plus, go look at CES. 4k was one of the big things there and it was absolutely wonderful.

If using Dvorak was 20% faster than QWERTY, with how modern operating systems are set up, you can switch keyboard layout in under a second with a hotkey, you could trivially swap to QWERTY for games, and Dvorak for typing on forums etc.[/QUOTE]

I'm a big native resolution and CRT whore. Seriously I don't want to go beyond 1080p because I like watching Blu-rays on my monitor at native resolution. Still keep a small CRT round for DVDs and would happily welcome a 1080p widescreen CRT monitor onto my desk because Colour, contrast and black levels.

Because it looks like shit, it drains the life out of the picture no thanks I imagine due to the content being deinterlaced.

I think they were still managing to get in with closed registration, albeit at a much slower rate.
