Why the hell did they decide to re-use the branding from the old Athlon II processors for what are basically GPU-less A-series chips? I'd have at least bumped it to "Athlon III" or something, or maybe "Athlon A" or "Athlon FX".
Only thing currently giving me pause on switching him to that is the lack of turbo being listed on Newegg. Do those have that, just not listed?

I'm exactly the opposite, at school I power through work so I don't have do much at home. I just go to a library or something to knock shit out. At home theres always me wanting to eat something, which leads to me sitting down and eating something, then wanting to watch more of whatever show I'm binging and so on. Its like "If you give a pig a pancake", except its a nerd with nerdy/lazy shit

Fuck, the case I'm gonna be getting has two fans, and I'm hoping to install another later, but the motherboard only has two fan headers (SYS_FAN and CPU_FAN).
Would I be able to daisy chain three fans (2 120mm and 1 200mm) off a single header and still get the PWM stuff/not fuck with anything electrics related? If not, what can I do?

I'm a bit like you, I can't concentrate at home on my PC but I don't rush to finish it to avoid having to then do it at home. I just put my feet up at home and ignore it. In return I get a feeling of coursework creep and the feeling it could come crashing down at any moment (especially in programming where I spend half my time struggling with the work).

Right now, it's best to just go CPU. AMD's not delivering with APU's right now, Kaveri is a major let down, Richland is even outperforming it in some cases. Power usage is pretty bad, too.
But on the bright side, they seem to know how to count GPU cores now.
I still don't really understand how people haven't switched away from cable tv yet. It is soo shit at least in America. Bullshit censoring, ridiculous low quality reality programming replacing everything, extremely excessive and annoying advertisements. It's terrible. Much better to switch to Amazon Prime or Netflix or P2P to get exactly what you want, when you want it, with no bullshit. Your television and movies start when you want them to, not when the network does. Not to mention cable is usually ridiculously expensive

They barely have any good shows on the UK Netflix. Started watching Archer cause I had nothing else to watch on the UK Netflix. Would use the US one but I watch it on my PS3 and that means switching DNS settings which slows down my download speeds and increases latency.

And still, Netflix (though I don't have it anymore) or at least the concept of it (along with Amazon and P2P) is a lot better than cable tv. With cable tv, you basically have no choice in what to watch. Sure you can flip channels but this is a waste of time, and a lot of times you never find something that you really want to watch, instead, you can choose what you want to watch from a library of thousands of items. With cable, you're forced to settle for less, but with other stuff you can have whatever you want
Netflix has a large battle to fight these days. They're still puny compared to the major cable companies, and now that they're perceived as a serious threat, they're trying to make licensing be much more expensive, resulting in stuff like KotH being removed. Whether or not they can get over this bump will really determine their future. Hopefully they win however. Cheap online streaming is the future imo
