isnt china supposed to have good internet speeds? at least in stuff like hong kong does also asus is based in taiwan so isn't that sacrilegious for china
isnt china supposed to have good internet speeds? at least in stuff like hong kong does also asus is based in taiwan so isn't that sacrilegious for china
Almost all internet traffic in china is national (because censorship n stuff), i don't think the peering contracts of Chinese internet routers is aimed at providing good international speeds.
Fuck manufacturer driver sites They always ridiculously limit download speeds so it takes forever for anything to happen For example, downloading some touchpad drivers from ASUS, its 38MB and they're limiting me to 24kbps, so a download that would literally take me about 10 seconds now takes almost 30 minutes fuckkkkkk youuuuuuuuuuuu
From my experience, Dell are especially great at doing this
I have had no issues with the asus site , get high speeds of about ober 40 mbit. Only ever site i know of that had slow speeds was creative.
Realtek is fucking garbage when it comes to that why don't driver websites offer torrents alongside their downloads?
Realtek is fucking garbage when it comes to that why don't driver websites offer torrents alongside their downloads?
Because torrents are evil. Hollywood said so, and they never lie, do they?
isnt china supposed to have good internet speeds?
Not even close.
Also on the asus site you can choose between europe etc for where to download from.
isnt this actually because most of them are hosted in china?
In the country it's fast, if you're accessing it from half way around the world it's going to be shit. It's not South Korea tier. Remember that China is big and most rural places don't have Internet, landlines are more frequent and cellular access is usually avaliable.
Realtek is fucking garbage when it comes to that
Well their website is designed for Netscape Navigator so....
just Google the filename and find a mirror...
Is this on one of your esoteric machines?
I was at a meeting and one guy brought in this absolutely disgusting machine. It had to of been in the trash. It was an early 00's home internet appliance that someone had hacked to run FreeBSD. Why are Linux users always so fucking filthy? Edited: Found it. It's the i-Opener.

My computer just had a brain fart. The back gesture on the touchpad would type a c and the charms menu gesture would type a d. The windows button didn't work and the app switching gesture would do a CTRL+Z command :v:
its a bit late but why would you download touchpad drivers off asus when you can get them off the synaptic website arent they the same thing
Funnily enough, they didn't even work, and neither did the ones from the synaptics website so I'm stuck with no multitouch I guess
Stallmanitis
should have used the proof picture
My lightpack arrived today (I backed it on kickstarter god knows how long ago) and it's very awesome. Combined with Beat Hazzard however, it's lethal. [editline]27th January 2014[/editline] I'm in the mood for backing something else now.
Bought a USB 3.0 Memory stick for Uni, 186MB/s Read. Its faster than my hard disk.
Bought a USB 3.0 Memory stick for Uni, 186MB/s Read. Its faster than my hard disk.
It's flash memory, of course it is.
So, I'm thinking about getting new identical monitors, found this one: http://us.hardware.info/productinfo/180143/aoc-i2269vwm#tab:overview Would this one be a good choice? Average price is 156 euros (213,38 USD) on the Dutch hardware.info webpage, and has a lot of features, including a 75mm VESA mount plate, 2x HDMI and DP. Would this be a good call? I'm not very good color-wise and all that.
My school doesn't block Facepunch, or 4chan, but they block spotify. Wow.
My school doesn't block Facepunch, or 4chan, but they block spotify. Wow.
Probably noticed a large chunk of bandwidth being used by Spotify so they blocked it. I'm willing to bet Netflix is also blocked for the same reason. Not totally out of line.
Probably noticed a large chunk of bandwidth being used by Spotify so they blocked it. I'm willing to bet Netflix is also blocked for the same reason.
According to them, they dont have any control of what is blocked because its done through an outside company (IPrism).
Wouldn't shock me either. My workplace has a relatively barebones IT staff but they are mostly there for hardware stuff. Actual administration and configuration of the network is done through Sovereign Systems. Which is usually fine, except they don't exactly know our needs so shit gets fucked up all the time. And the people that do talk to them aren't very good at relaying that to them apparently. They also configured our firewall to block LogMeIn 123 (which they use for remote support). GG guys.
Okay FUCK AVAST I could ignore the scare tactic advertising, I didn't mind the protection, I hated your "Want to run a false-positive? Disable the scanner" system BUT YOU JUST FUCKING CRASHED ME OUT OF A GAME, RIGHT AT THE ENDING, TO TELL ME YOU NEEDED TO REBOOT FOR THE 5TH FUCKING TIME TODAY I'm going back to MSE until I find an AV that isn't shit
