I decided to give Elementary OS a second chance, and installed it on my ultrabook.
I really like the look and overall feel of it, although it won't register my right-clicks.

Apparently some people whose laptops have those Apple-esque combined touchpads have problems, I find it pretty weird seeing as it works just fine when running Ubuntu and Mint.
Ah, nice, I solved it by following the instructions on the top of this page: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1966016&page=2&p=11918367#post11918367
Jesus christ, why is a good screen recorder so hard to find.

eOS works great on my ultrabook of a similar model. Right clicks you have to have 2 fingers on the trackpad and click.

Need it to be free. The ones I tried during quick googling were just incredibly terrible and fucked up because I had two screens.

That's what I use for games, yep. I had to record a livestream. I got it sorted out before it began though, my laptop saved the day because Debut didn't crash on that.
I don't think the tank will be a big deal. I think it's just a fuel pump seal issue.
nevermind.
it's going to be $2000

Do they have to replace the entire tank or what? Or is that mostly labor.
You can upgrade the CPU pretty easily (apparently the Xeon 775 mod works too) but upgrading the GPU's required milling new blocks.
Do you know if the xeon 775 mod works with the Dell XPS 410 motherboard? The friend I rebuilt it for is doing fine with his Q6600 but he could definitely use the extra grunt

That must be a lot of duct tape

OEM mobos generally restricts your upgradability even for standard desktop CPUs of the same family, so I'm going to guess no.

Its a pain in the dick to drop a gas tank, especially if its full of gas. I paid a buddy $50 to replace my in tank fuel pump on an old car because I didnt want to deal with it.
Do they have to replace the entire tank or what? Or is that mostly labor.
No idea.
But for now I'm just going to keep the tank like half full rather than topped off.

When the fuel pump on my Vic went out, I was lucky and I was pretty low on gas. I dropped the tank to remove the fuel pump. 3/10 would not do again. It took like 3 hours to try to secure it back into place because we didn't know the bolts on the car were actually studs... :downs:

Looks pretty simple to do on my escort. Just remove the rear seat, remove the access cover, and there's the fuel pump.
The interior will probably smell like gas for awhile though. :v:
Yeah, I had an astro van for a bit and what most people do is cut a hole in the floor so they can get to the pump without having to drop the tank.

From what I've from the techs I've worked with, changing the fuel pump isn't hard, but its a real pain in the ass. So everybody hates doing them.
Could be worse - replacing the water pump on my old Eagle required removing the battery, two tires, radiator, drive belt, and unmounting the engine. Took about 6 hours to get it all apart, five minutes to swap the pump, and another 6 hours to put it back together.
Here we go again...

Oh. So then I didn't have to copy-paste that script after all. Ah, well, good to know.

Then again, since my father and I did all the work ourselves, that fix cost about $200 (we also swapped the drive belt and some other issues while we had the whole thing disassembled) instead of costing $2000.
Here we go again...
We could discuss OBD-II and CANS if that makes you feel better.

And since I didn't buy an OEM pump to replace the original pump that lasted 200k miles and 15 years, the new pump died less than a year later.
