Well, as it turns out I've got about £300 more than I'd expected for my PC. Anyone got any ideas of what I can do for a good ITX system + monitor with £1100?
I just bought a chinese xbox controller adapter on ebay for $8.84 and I'm not sure why [editline]2nd February 2014[/editline] now I have to buy eurotruck simulator
ETS2 is the best thing to do while listening to podcasts
Wouldn't an instaban that looks for the thread title "I am the new girl" and "Just wanted to say Hi" work? That's all the spam threads seem to be named.
If Garry enable the spambot IP filter again, all problems will be solved again.
#SeahawksHype http://superbowl.foxsports.com/
They're playing the game on the intercom at work, but they only gave us a half hour lunch to watch it. :(
ETS2 is the best thing to do while listening to podcasts
I put on DI.fm, get my Driving Force GT and voila I can drive forever. However I have nearly 30 hours on the 360 controller. :v:
In dungeon keeper (the new mobile game), they show their own popup in the game for you to rate the app. If you choose 5 stars, it takes you to the app store so you can actually rate it. If you choose 1-4, it just asks you for feedback on how to improve the game.
holy shit that's brilliant
the ai in that game is pure trash went in a roundabout and a car just drove infront of me and i got a violation ragequit
This is my only problem with the game as it is. AI is simple and not very intelligent. As it stands, its pretty much Russian Truck Simulator.
How bout them seahawks
I don't like football that much but I thoroughly enjoyed watching Peyton getting his shit pushed in
"The superb owl parties better keep it down so I can watch Top Gear..."
remembering a new password is hilariously satisfying for some reason

Spot the problem.
Dat query time. Also I feel like buying a Razer Deathadder 2013 for my next mouse, but do I need to use Synapse in order to actually use the mouse or will it work fine without?
So I've been on Three (UK mobile network) since October quite happily munching through the infinite chocolate bar of data, and then late last month I started getting about 3 marketing calls a day (quite clearly from them as the callerid shows that people that have picked them up have been pitched a "new ipad because you're a good customer keeping up with your bills") that I haven't been able to pick up as I've either A: been awaiting a call regarding work, or B: was driving at the time. I popped into a Three store yesterday to ask "oh jesus pls make them stop" and they were extremely understanding, saying it was probably best to ring Customer Services and ask them to be added to the non-marketing list. That's what I did 30 minutes ago, eventually got through and got added, but then at the end of the call "I'D LIKE TO OFFER YOU SOME EXCELLENT DEALS INCLUDING ON OUR IPAD OFFERINGS BECAUSE YOU'VE BEEN AN EXCELLENT CUSTOMER KEEPING UP YOUR BILLS" no thank you this line needs to stay open and I have thing to d- "IT'LL ONLY TAKE TWO MINUTES I JUST NEED TO TRANSFER YOU TO ONE OF MY COLLEAGUES" no I'm serious I really need to go I'll talk to one of your colleagues in store "BUT THESE DEALS AREN'T AVAILABLE IN STORE YOU'LL BE MISSING OUT" NO REALLY THIS IS A CRITICAL LINE AND I NEED TO GO "oh okay thanks, bye" Jesus christ, when I call to stop marketing calls I don't expect to be marketed to at the same time Made a complaint using their web form and will see if they respond on twitter
Just made my own Ethernet cable, strangely satisfying.
Just made my own Ethernet cable, strangely satisfying.
How long did it take you to get the pairs into the plug correctly without wanting to bite your fingers off / throw it across the room
How long did it take you to get the pairs into the plug correctly without wanting to bite your fingers off / throw it across the room
Took me about ten minutes, would of been quicker if the person doing the other end hadn't wired it to be reversed and wired wrongly.
Just made my own Ethernet cable, strangely satisfying.
I bought a 100 ft Cat 5e cable, a crimper, and 50 RJ-45 connectors just for that. Much cheaper than buying a bunch of cables individually and can make them any length I please. Plus I can easily repair existing ones when the little plastic tab on the connector gets weak or breaks off.
First time is really really frustrating. But after about 50 cables later I can make one in less then a minute if it's a rough job. I've even made my own 35 meters of fucking Cat5e and then fed it through my outside window and back into the house to the other room so I don't have to violate rules that the house has and be forced to drill a damn hole into a wall.
It wasn't frustrating for me, just time consuming. I reckon it was because I've dealt with TV wires in the past. The wiring itself fits on the connector similarly to an F Connector I find.
Oh god, Ethernet cables are satisfying when you get them. Can be painful and annoying though...Loosen your grip for a second and then you have to re-order the pairs again, god damn it :v:

Motherfucker!
Hey, anyone ever salvaged digital cameras? I got a little Samsung point-and-shoot here, lens assembly is fucked and so is the battery door. Anything neat I can get out of it? Do the screens use proprietary connectors and stuff, or do I have a chance at making it run with a programmable IC or something like that?
Got the wires lined up, pushed into the connector and....two wires decided to swap places. Motherfucker!
Or that one wire that decides it doesn't want to go in all the way. I also have really shitty RJ45 connectors. One bag of ones from ebay that work and crimp well, but the tabs often don't snap in or they fall out. Then two bags of complete garbage Monoprice two part CAT6 connectors. I have an entire spool of CAT5. I've never got a good crimp from those. And I have no idea where to buy decent connectors that aren't insanely overpriced.

Because a home-improvement store is obviously the first place that comes to mind for networking hardware. Though that's the only place here that sells CAT5e ethernet in bulk.
