maybe use the fact that it's broken to your advantage, do something cool with it. i find fun in doing that especially tbh, really cool results if you get lucky
Ehh I don't know circuitbending and the only thing wrong with it is that the lens assembly doesn't work well so I have to force it open and even then it doesn't focus right "compact" lenses are such garbage
I've been working on Mac Pros at work (Cheese graters, not Darth Vader's thermos), and I'd forgotten how beautifully easy to work on they are. The RAM daughterboards are especially lovely. Why has nobody else picked up where this thing left off and made a workstation that's properly sized and easy to work on with this much power?

Now go swap the CPUs - pain in the fucking ass just to get it open enough to see them.
I'm pretty sure most workstations are like this, but you rarely see workstations except Apple ones...
We've got a few older IBM and Dell workstations here too. They're a pain to work on, relatively. Still better than a normal desktop, even a self built one, for the most part.
Sure, it's easy to upgrade the RAM or hard drives. Also it's still not as bad as getting the the CPU's on a G5. I had to once and I nicked one of the liquid cooling pipes and it started leaking rather badly. Let's just say that was the end of that machine.
Why do monitor manufacturers insist on only providing D-Sub cables with their 1080p IPS ~omg so lifelike~ screens? We're already moving away from DVI on a lot of video cards, and HDMI/DVI cables are only about £3 to make anyway, why not switch/supply both?

WHY!?!? When I got my U2410, I thought "Huh, that's weird of them to do that" and disconnected it. Last summer when I VESA mounted like, thirty 21" Dell monitors that were going to be hooked up with DVI, I was getting pretty annoyed by the end. At least they started using cardboard filler, which you can actually compact. Unboxing and disposing of the styrofoam packaging for 20 of an older revision gets a little annoying.

And both have D-Sub inputs. Considering both are budget monitors, I can't imagine it being a cost issue.

Granted, it's a 1440p monitor with no VGA inputs, so maybe that's an exception.
yo dawgs and dawgettes what's the name of that really great chrome proxy extension?

I don't think VGA is capable of it at all.
Wow, (x)ubuntu makes two-finger touchpad scrolling and other gestures work on my 11 year old T42 I use as a textbook, and even the middle mouse button which does nothing in windows works. Amazing.

Apparently Synaptics actually released drivers that officially supported multitouch on those old touchpads a couple years ago, even for Windows. Apparently the hardware was capable, but they never implemented it.

I can't understand why people like southpark or why that game has been in gaming news regularly since it was announced

win8 has around 22% marketshare, respectable number for an OS that isn't much of a necessary upgrade from the last one

Christ, my eyes just skipped past the fucking thing, the 8 different OS X versions got me bored of the list so I started skipping and didn't remember 32-bit Windows still exists.
I'd actually love to see steam community integration for facepunch signups Make it an optional thing for members, but required for new users, and make it show VAC bans and shit :v:
A frequent argument against that is that people might not be joining because of games, and we shouldn't require it for new users. I personally think it should be required to link your account to a Steam account owning GMod or Rust in order to access the respective forums but that's about it. Unsurprisingly, this number is remarkably small.
