I had one of those too! My dad gave it to me alongside his Palm IIIc when he got a blackberry, they were fun to mess around with
So I got bored tonight, decided that I should set up a streaming system so I could stream some day if I want to. Okay, got OBS working (After some bullshit with MSI Afterburners On-Screen Display shit) and yeah, almost works. Finding the streaming key on twitch-s website was weird, i have no idea how they could hide it so well.
Oh well, started the stream. Ping in WOT - 600ms, stream is really laggy, oh right, my connection sucks at 0.78Mbps up.. :v:
but. the stream worked so that's okay.

I still own a Palm Tungsten T and T5. Those were so awesome. 480x320 video. And the T5 had a interlaced LCD if you can belieb it.
More oldschool PDA goodness:

This has been used quite a lot before I got it, and I don't have the charger anymore since I found a PSP and sold it with the PDAs charger since it fit the PSP. I remember it's biggest flaw was the fact it didn't have any memory, everything was stored in volatile ram. I'm not sure what accessory you were supposed to use with it for memory, though.
[editline]5th February 2014[/editline]
Oh, and battery life sucked absolute balls. 20 minutes of backlight time or something.
Speaking of PDAs I am still in need of a new stylus for the old Jama 101...
I'm still looking as hard as I can, the Jama is a nice phone, if the stylus wasn't so fragile.
Random question but since it's a H/W general chat thread I figured it's kinda relevant:
Is there anyone here who's very well-versed in the original Xbox and its mods? I'm trying to figure out which mods are on mine but I'm in a pretty unique situation with it.

I've got a crystal model that seems to be modded. On certain bootups, (seemingly depending on how long I keep hold of the power button) the power indicator will come on orange instead of green, and I get an "EvoX" logo at the top left of the boot screen. I know that EvoX is a popular mod, but mine only shows that logo then loads the default dashboard.
I've looked at a lot of different forums relating to it but nobody seems to have an Xbox that shows a mod logo, then acts completely stock. I was wondering what exactly has been done to it, and where I would go to install basic modding stuff like dashboards and FTP software from the stage I'm at.
If anyone else might know, feel free to suggest something.
I actually found it in it's box, unopened, back in 2009. I seriously used it for taking notes in school and stuff in like 5th grade :v:

I got one of those still brand new in the box like two years ago with a bunch of accessories and driver discs. I think I gave it to my aunt.

Sounds like its not running the stock BIOS (since the boot screen has the EvoX logo). Might very well be chipped, which is good. However, it sounds like the EvoX dashboard is missing, hence the stock dashboard, but it should still be able to launch burned discs.
You should be able to burn and use a recovery disc like HeXen or Slayers to reinstall it (then you can use FTP and such). I think I have both of them, and they are about ~225 MB each, so let me know if you need them.

Thanks, but I've already tried burning discs and the console gave a disc read error, the typical "may be dirty or scratched" one. That leads me to believe it isn't quite at the stage of being able to load unsigned discs yet, which makes it all the more curious. Not sure if that's due to incorrect burn settings or the Xbox itself, but I'm definitely missing the majority of the functionality of a typical modded one.
It's definitely on a custom BIOS, but I'm pretty sure it's not chipped. I don't know that for certain, but it definitely doesn't look like anything has been opened up or any seals broken.

Hmm, that is a problem. Make sure your burning at a very slow speed, since the drive is quite elderly.
Though, it has to have been opened at some point, because you can't flash the BIOS using a softmod. You have to either have a modchip, or do some funny flashing work on the TSOP chip itself where the BIOS is stored.

I have no way of opening it myself to check because of the funky screws it uses. Like I said it's a crystal one, so is there anything that would be visible from the outside looking in that would be a giveaway?

I don't know really. There are about 5 different revisions of the motherboard and I haven't had personal experience with actual mod chips and I don't know what you can see from the outside with the crystal case.
The original Xbox screws aren't too special. There are 6 T20 Torx screws. You can pick up the screwdriver for pretty cheap (like 2-3 USD) at a hardware store. Its a good thing to have anyway. You're probably going to need to open it up at some point.
It turns out I missed some rather obvious breaks in the labels where there are screws, I must've been thinking of my other Xbox. Assuming it has been opened, and I can't currently get into it, is there any way of figuring which kind of mod it has just from the orange light and EvoX logo?

Does anyone know if there is a way to force steam to download updates?
It keeps pausing because it detects that the "disc is busy". Yeah, it's busy. That's what happens when I'm watching a movie. I don't care. My performance isn't going to be impacted by it. If it was, I'd shut down steam.
My cat was throwing up blood this morning :(
I guess I shouldn't be too surprised because she's somewhere around 15 years old now
She's doing better now at least, she ate some food and drank some water
I'd get it to a vet quickly.
Let's not launch into a post your pets that died deal. I've seen and participated in too many. :(

Make sure they know what they're talking about, my old cat...didn't die a pretty death, because the vet told us she would be fine after we took her in. She died the next day when her lungs filled with fluid. We would have had her put down if we knew it was going to be like that.

It's a USB DRM key for a shitty Internet TV service. That key nets you a year of service plus $10 every year after. Saying it's free is borderline false advertising.

Making a successful mobile game is easy
1. Find an old, fun flash game
2. Remake it for whatever mobile platform, release for $2 and/or covered in app purchases
3. Re-release the game on PC with no new features for 10x the price
4. Think of what to name your new boat
