the only reason I use a Sidewinder X4 instead of upgrading to a mechanical keyboard is because my typing style is so shallow and rapid my fingers get stuck inbetween the keys with certain deeper keyboards

I would recommend Browns as they are good for both gaming and typing.
Reds in my opinion are not so good for typing.
Just ordered the base parts for my new rig (mobo, cpu, ram, case, memory, psu, all that shit).
So thanks to a very generous friend of mine, my T61 will live again! I'm getting a new motherboard, new battery, new thermal paste (:v:), and a new keyboard for it.
Can't wait to ditch this crappily built Acer.
(In retrospect for how much money was spent I probably could've gotten a used W500 or something with a better graphics chip, but eh.)

They're smaller than regular keys but I wouldn't exactly call them laptop size.
And honestly at this point it shouldn't be too hard for Cherry to start manufacturing "compact" switches. They would be small enough for a laptop and they would probably be a lot more expensive but it would definitely be progress.
I find it very odd how Arkham City isn't nearly as captivating as Asylum, when it's basically Asylum on a much bigger scale and budget. Looooving the GFX/SFX, but can't really play it for more than a couple hours at a time.
Also they replaced the fully-voiced Chronicles of Arkham with what amounts to tons canonized fanfiction, gross
