My original Xbox DVD drive is like that. Usually pushing in gets it to open though.
My DVD drive didn't work for 2-3 years because I couldn't be bothered to plug the cables in.
I finally put them in about a year ago, when I cleaned the machine properly.

I dunno, have you seen the way Steam currently categorizes games? I'm not sure even the bowels of the Internet could do much worse.
Lets have a look at some of Rusts tags within a few minutes of this being released:
"#YOLO", "Not Half-Life 3", "Gays", "boxes", "penis" (Okay that's accurate), "Trees", "Wood", "Alpha" (You can't remove tags right now.).

so what would be the symptoms of a dying GPU? I suspect that my primary one is on the edge of dying. the display driver often crashes, there are lots of weird artifacts in both games and on my desktop. performance is horrible in loads of games.

Steams categories are pretty shit but this REALLY isn't the way to do it. The single, simple way to fix this whole system up, you know the Steam Community Moderator guys for SPUF and shit? Limit it to them. Done. Solved.

Except a lot of the fucknuts retarded ones wont because Steam has a terrible community and Valve clearly didn't think this through. On Rust: "Alpha". You can upvote but not downvote. That's always going to be there, because of it's origins. But there's also the fact communities can have enough power to get and keep a tag somewhere, betcha within a month one of the top tags on Amnesia is going to be PewDiePie related.

I don't think you realize how much there are. There's an absolute metric fuckton and tags is of no more effort to them since it takes them 2 seconds to add one from a game they played. Let the community up and downvote, but make the moderators set the tags. It'll filter out all the shit and give Steam the categories it actually needs.
