dogecoin is not profitable at all, is it
I mined like $20 worth for shits and giggles when it was new and then a bit later I found out that my $20 worth had become $170 worth so I went shopping. The thing about cryptocurrencies is that just because something is worthless now doesn't mean it will always be that way. The same goes for shit that is profitable now but might be worthless later on.
I hate cryptocurrencies because it's free money for people who have the free time and hardware to mine it and keep up with news of the ~new hot currency~ that's worth mining for like a week after it starts picking up speed
My dedicated server is currently not responding, and while being in contact with the Sysop at the datacenter I have this running in the background.

Re: F.Lux: it's good because it helps me go to sleep easier and bad because it fucks up some games and other full screen programs.
By unsupported I meant not "officially", at least not in Windows. You try to give a guy a compliment and you end up being attacked, some people I don't know. Thanks for the insult "wingless Trekintosh PredGD" :suicide: .

Huh, what. I have 8GB as well and I'm often using over 60% and windows never bitches. In fact, right now I'm using 55%

Well yeah, but on the other hand it's free money people with the hardware to mine it.
I hate getting into crypto myself but every so often I keep on getting sucked in and can't stop because monies

Server is fixed, and I investigated why it wasn't working.
Aparently the server was shut down.
So I investigated why it was shut down.
Feb 12 21:11:42 kauk init: Switching to runlevel: 0
Then I checked every fucking log file on the system, and in the auth.log I found this:
Feb 12 21:11:42 kauk sudo: maintenance : TTY=pts/4 ; PWD=/home/maintenance ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/sbin/init 0
And the it fucking hit me. I was working with a CentOS installation at that time. I had 2 SSH Sessions. one to my CentOS testserver and one to my Dedicated server. I fucking issued "init 0" on the wrong SSH session, and I didn't even realize it.
I bring great shame to my Sysadmin skills :/

Get to Action Center, change settings, untick "Windows Troubleshooting". Took me forever to find that. I hate how obscure it is but at least you can disable it.

The game would crash to desktop every time the message came up.
Cause you were literally running out maybe?
No, the game would play at a decent FPS for a while before crashing, the specs are an i5-3210m, 660m, and 8GB RAM.

Some programs are just stupid
If I minimise out of Fallout 3, the game refuses to be reopened

iirc, FO3 was one of the ones you had to fiddle like a bitch with. Had to alt tab back in, click icon on task bar a few times, try alt tabbing a few times again. Just fuck with it until it worked.
So logitech's support is easily the most painless i've ever gone through. My G500 left click is going bad (which is not an uncommon problem) and the whole call took about 10 minutes, with a guy who spoke perfect english.
They're sending me a new G500S and I don't even have to send in my old one.

Sounds like using anything based on GTK+

Mine's doing that too, apparently you can easily fix it by opening it up and bending a spring
Do that, now you have two great mice for the price of one
How long have you had it for?
I bought it in 2012 I think, lasted longer than the Thermaltake mouse i had, but that's just thermaltake for you
edit: december 2012, so a little under a year and a half. I use a lot of semi-auto guns in games so I kinda abuse the LMB

I bought FO3 for PC yesterday and it needed some fixing to get to work properly, and it doesn't like getting minimized. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Fucking bullshit.
I'm starting to get curious about Linux now.
I've been using a Linux distro on my laptop years ago for a short while, I forgot which one however. Back in the time I found no use to it because I'm quite a PC gamer (now it is a good reason to install it).
Now the thing is, what is better about Linux than Windows? I might install it on my secondary drive and use it for a while, maybe even try if using Hammer is possible.
You know, I really might try Linux. But there are so many distro's out there that I don't know which one to use. Does anyone have suggestions?

Personally, I like xubuntu. It's relatively close to windows in UI, has great support and it's lightweight.
In general, though, you just choose the distro that you like most, so try a little bit of everything on a YUMI multiboot stick. For most home users, any debian-based distro (ubuntu, xubuntu, mint, etc) seems to generally be fine. Enterprise users have a whole other host of choices.
Yeah, I just downloaded and burned a Ubuntu distro, I'll be back in a few, maybe from Ubuntu.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna have another 3 Job applicants invited over. Let's see what happens.

I got Hammer working via Wine pretty easily but you will probably have to go back into windows to compile your map so there isn't really much point. You can do loads of other cool stuff in Linux though, like write a shell script that automatically extracts all those tarballs of granny porn that people keep sending you and sorts them into convenient subdirectories based on file extension, country of origin and general nastiness. For more info on how to do that and other cool stuff you can head over to the Linux thread.
