Should be lower priority than actually being able to play games.

Yes, yes they are.

Already got a 780 Ti, waiting for the Asus ROG 1440p 120hz G-Sync Monitor.

Anyone know a good way to fix cracks in your monitor display?
I've heard superglue works
Duct tape.
Edited: shit, this is a screen. Clear packing tape.
I did a review on my recent videocamera purchase so if you care about things like that, here you go

Also, I think I need clarification on pentium. I thought he was banned? Isn't MIPS his old profile?

It's pretty obvious, especially in the scoring system.
I noticed this on Anandtech once:

I like how they made an article about fanboyism, yet they are the fanboy's Macbooks on desk, and iMacs in the back. "Windows is really hard and confusing to use duh"
I just noticed there's a little icon on my monitor to indicate on which side the picture is....

Worst part is that they probably didn't put it there for no reason. Somebody probably complained that setting up the monitor is "confusing" and had no idea where the picture is.

Screen Tearing only bothers scrubs. Vsync can suck a cock.

Because seeing several frames in each other is da best.
[editline]14th February 2014[/editline]
But seriously, I really only disable V-sync if I get really disoriented without it. For example, the camera shakes when there is a exploision, the entire screen turns to "jello-vision".
[editline]14th February 2014[/editline]
But my GPU is never fast enough to really reach those framerates in newer games so I'm safe there.
Is it bad if I've never seen screen tearing
I try and I try to see it but never in my life have I ever actually noticed it with Vsync off
(with nvidia hardware like GTX570/760, anyway. I dunno if I will on my new ATI cards)

Screen tearing can basically occur at any framerate not just >60.
Ontop of that screentearing simply doesn't bother me. The input response is much more worth it.

Its not really super noticeable unless there is a lot of movement on screen. Its just looks like a weird jarring lines from the combination of two or more frames.

It probably does, I just don't notice it until 60+ frame rates.
My GPU makes coil whine noises if I turn of v-sync in certain situations.
i need to turn off v-sync, i only get 40fps in cs:go
I dont get it, whats wrong with vsync? All I know is if Im playing a game and I get screen tearing its fucking annoying, so I turn on vsync and it goes away. magic.

Vsync holds ontop frames before they go to screen so they hit the screen the moment it begins refreshing againt. This is to avoid screentearing. By holding the frame you're increasing input lag because the frame isn't being seen as fast as it's actually being rendered. Turning it off lets the frames hit the monitor as fast as they can.
im dumbe
[QUOTE=B!N4RY;43912348]Do you not know how VSync work? VSync does nothing if your computer cannot render to 60 FPS in the first place. VSync only caps the FPS and prevents it from going above 60 or whatever your monitor's refresh rate is.[/QUOTE]
Well sorta, that's the side effect. But if you can't push atleast 60fps vsync will be a big problem. Since it will render to a factor of the fps. 60fps, 30fps, 20fps, 15fps, 10fps, 5fps, etc.

It would drop down to 30fps unless its nvidias adaptive v-sync.

Oh I never knew that. I thought VSync only caps at max refresh rate and that's it.
Don't most game engines have a separate setting for framerate caps?
Source has the fps_max convar, iirc
