There's like no stuff in between because MGS3 takes place during the cold war. There's a couple references to MGS2 but they're easter eggs. I'd just go for that and revisit MGS2 later

First we have Google, which has broken Cyrillic support and will butcher emails that I send.
Second, there's Outlook, to which some emails just don't arrive at all.
And third, we have iCloud, which just does not open at all.
