Also the game is fun as fuck
Oh shit thanks for the heads up, I've been wanting to have a go at this. They should have emailed people about this or some shit because I was still waiting for the open beta to start as I didn't get a key.
AMD finally released working Win 8.1 drivers for my Ultrabooks ATI GFX card, about time. No more reseting the desktop every 5 minutes when in performance mode.
seagate backup plus 3tb drive power adapter shows signs of almost going on fire, smelt dead dodgy and managed to trip a circuit in my university. it doesn't seem safe to use but does anyone know how i can get the drive to spin up again without the dc adapter or where i can get a replacement?
Boss brought in some small new PC's.
Instant happy c:
That means more people get to upgrade from Windows XP + Office XP (Yes, office fucking XP)
to Window 7 + Office 2010.
The happyness is overflowing, and even more since we soon have migrated every XP machine.

If you only want the data out of it then you could open it up. Most external harddrives has an normal internal SATA drive inside it. Just hook it up to an desktop pc, or get an SATA>USB adapter.

As anderen says, take it apart and plug it into a PC. The controller board could be funky and messing about with it more probably won't be helping the HDD.

here's the noise

That's the exact same noise my USB HDD with two USB connectors makes when I try and plug it in with only one connector and it doesn't get enough power.

Found two unused, unplugged monitors in the corner of the computer lab downstairs.
Hmm. Is there seriously not a VESA to VESA arm so I can mount 2x 1600x900 monitors above my 1920x1080 side monirors?
Does anyone have that image of a YouTube copyright claim by like 6 people?

I was not expecting this shit to work, I'm living in an apartment building, with massive buildings all around me, and the antenna is sitting on top of my computer, and I'm still getting the Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast frames without any problems.
I have my dongle hooked up to my raspberry pi. Rtl_tcp likes to crash all the time, so I have a little bash script running in a screen session that will automatically restart it. If it dies, I just stop and start the connection again and it should come back.

I know you got this sorted but seriously take that as a lesson. If your data doesn't exist in three distinct places then it doesn't exist at all. Get that stuff backed up. With services like Skydrive, Google Drive, Dropbox and all that free goodness there's no reason to ever lose a document.
I can't believe how much I need to drill this into people's heads. I personally have Dropbox, My NAS, Carbonite and a VPS.
I recently bought cloud space from Jottacloud.
Now I've backed up 379GB of stuff there. Including all my photography, all my videography and all my music.
It's pretty cheap too.
I'd get some kind of online back up but I believe 2TB of data would be pretty expensive
Why not Backblaz?

$6 a month on Jottacloud.
