Even if you "fuck up" a friends server.
That server is likely to be hosted in a datacentre, and some poor sysadmin has to fix it. Oh and the person who rented the server has to pay increased costs, most likely due to traffic limits or other stuff.
It's just bad, and does not contribute to anything good.

My GPU temperature sensors don't work anymore but I assume it's running very hot since the stock cooler stopped working two years ago and now is being cooled by a case fan strapped to the card

I haven't thought about it in forever but my cable management is pretty hilarious, you can tell I actually tried when I built the rig but when I had to adapt that case fan to fit the GPU I just left a big long wire hanging right over the motherboard

My PC has a Harddisk ductaped to the PSU, because the CPU cooler blocks the HDD tray.

Make sure the compressor has a water trap.
My SSD is just sitting on the bottom of my case unsecured because it was added after I did the build and I didn't have any 3.5>2.5 bay converters
I bought a cheap $2 converter when I bought my ssd. :v:
I got the SSD for free and it didn't come with a converter. the sitting in the bottom of the case thing works so I haven't remedied it yet. my GPU cooler problem is higher on the list anyway and I've been running it like that for 2 or 3 years so I don't think I'll fix it anytime soon. not until games start needing more than a 6870 at least

speaking of GPU upgrades, what's the current price:performance beast? I'm not the kind of guy who has $700 to blow on something that will be useless in 5 years but I should be able to spare $250 or so. my experience says any more than that is just fluff anyway

The sole appeal of OSX isn't that it is for tech illiterates. I use OSX and in no way consider it subpar to Windows (tabbed explorer pls) or Linux.
Using OSX feels very convenient.

PC World finally got back to me on if they will provide an independent report on my faulty keyboard. It will cost £50 for them to send it to their engineers to find out what the problem is. Means having to use my old 11inch netbook for the next few weeks. Oh god.
