I thought this was a giant USB stick.
I actually thought the same at first when I only saw the first half of the camcorder at a glimpse
what are you doing, listen to music or monitoring audio?
Youtube videos, skype calls, sometimes music.
I've actually had my father on a Mint system for the past year. He's had next to no problems with it. His only real problem is that he can't use a work site for checking info at home because it (of course) requires IE. But he just uses my mother's Windows laptop if he needs to (which isn't often). Everything else was little UI things. Other than that, he has no problems with it, and he's about as computer illiterate as they come. Granted, he can't really break anything, since he's using a non-superuser account that doesn't even have a password.
I had some very annoying issues with the drivers for my wireless NIC and soundcard, that together with the fact that there are a ton of Windows-exclusive software that I want or need to run made me switch.
It all depends on what you want from your machine.

If that battery life meter is accurate then that's pretty amazing
Well, I've seen it all now, a camera that claims 50p is HD.
Never used skydrive. Is it good compared to dropbox?
Its pretty good actually, also if you have a windows phone and save your photos on onedrive then you get 3 GB for free.

At the bottom of the LCD you can see the start of the battery
Does anyone know of a touch-based Windows 8 browser that just works? I want something like Safari for iOS 6. It all just works and it's intuitive. IE11 is problematic, and Firefox Aurora is buggy as shit and slow as hell, and Chrome's touch features are rudimentary and it's W8 app version is just Chrome OS, it doesn't change the interface.
IE11 is problematic
Why?
Why?
Because I uninstalled it as soon as I got the tablet and I can't seem to find a download for it.

:l
That's pretty stupid even if you're not gonna use it. Some apps need IE to work.
But I think you can install it here:

Probably doesn't know that 1080p means 1920x1080 in progressive scan mode, 50p means 50 frames per second on progressive scan mode.. Pixels vs frame rate
Come on guys, use real batteries.

Maybe it was my drivers that was making my gpu run hotter. Today, after updating my drivers last night, it's running just under 40c.
It didn't start running hot until just recently though..

Then we will get this
I wish I'd taken a picture of the battery in the bus my parents used to have. Almost as big as my computer tower.
My favourite type of battery:

our video cameras battery died. so we have a 12v adapter connected to it at all times.

What kinda camera is that? Looks like a JVC, and the timecode stuff on it leads me to believe it's MiniDV. But it also looks older than MiniDV...

Might be a Beta cam. Those were huge in the broadcast industry even after VHS took over consumer markets.

Mini-Laserdisc obviously.
