If anyone is Javascript inclined. Please help me. I cannot begin to fathom how the command HLO from the server is triggering my PRI and MSG command handlers. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] PM me if you want to help so I can send a link for a CodeShare [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] Server sends data. [t]http://puu.sh/77iGE.png[/t] This code processes it. [t]http://puu.sh/77ixz.png[/t] This code uses two arrays to find information. [t]http://puu.sh/77izG.png[/t] Since the command was ERR, this code prints onto the screen. [t]http://puu.sh/77iBj.png[/t] End result, "Suck a bag of dicks" [t]http://puu.sh/77iEO.png[/t]
fuuuck, tried to use my headphones with my amp with high bass and unplugged them it just reminded me i haven't been able to use my 500 watt speakers in almost a year now that feeling of the constant pounding in your chest when playing dnb it will never return ;_;7
So by now my sister has gone through 4 mac chargers (two official apple and two aftermarket, last one broke a week ago), a new bottom plate, new screen, new logic board (pretty much everything has been replaced by now, it's a school laptop so they decide to replace half the laptop's parts instead of a new laptop) I've gone through two (first one died because the cable broke), when i woke up this morning i noticed my charger gone, go downstairs and see my sister using it, complaining the light isn't turning on and laptop not being charged, so i plug it back into my mac, doesn't work either (while it worked fine last night), and when i pick up my laptop i get shocked from the connector and a random screw on the right side of my mac at the same time. Unplug it and say we should throw it away and just buy two new chargers again, then my dad says he wants to test the charger on my mac some more because he says it takes time before they start charging (he's not familiar with apple at all, although he studied electrics etc) and i tell him to fuck off because the charger is faulty and i dont want my mac to break. Now he's shouting from downstairs telling me to bring my mac back or he'll come and get it and throw it down the stairs, i shouted back that if he does that i'll plug his nexus 5 and 7 into 230V mains
i'd happily argue you're burning through so many chargers through abuse - 4 chargers is insane even for a macbook
[QUOTE=codenamecueball;44016586]i'd happily argue you're burning through so many chargers through abuse - 4 chargers is insane even for a macbook[/QUOTE] Honestly i suspected my sister of doing that, but in reality she doesnt even take her charger to school, it's always in her room and she just plugs it in when she gets home

All this Mac talk makes me unsure to get one. My aunt suggested I should sell all of my machines in favour of a Macbook Pro like hers, I dunno if I should now seeing I'm finding 0 uses of them all.

[QUOTE=tratzzz;44016784]huge beowulf cluster? sell them, get a lot of money, buy a car or a nicer laptop or a nice PC or a badass battlestation? give them to us?[/QUOTE] Was thinking of selling just to get a bit of money to save... My PC is fine as it is right now. Oh dear God the uncertainty is at bursting point.

The trouble with a secondhand mac is that the battery is old and you've got to go through hell to replace it.
If I wasn't used to the power of the 780 I think I'd be happy with a powerful laptop, but we need a few generations yet before a slim laptop can run a 2560x1440 screen at a reasonable FPS.
I never really had problems with my mac.

It's because of that Intel has been making these under powered I7s. Power efficiency isn't cool.

You're just saying that CPUs would be better if they wasted shitloads of power And the reason behind the "Slim portable power saving craze" is because people want exactly that, slim, light laptops with long battery life. They aren't meant for power, they're meant to be carried around and used at work/classes
It wouldn't hurt having knowledge in both platforms right? I can't just install another OS just to experiment with due to Apple's extremely exclusive way of not letting them install on PCs. Pathetic but I guess that's how Apple works, only way I know is getting the Mac itself. Was thinking of a Macbook Air 13in or 11.6in seeing they're budget. Unless you suggest me a better option then I'm happy to reconsider.

i've got a 15" cMBP w/matte screen and i love it but i'm sure i could produce the same work at a similar efficiency on a similar windows laptop, it's just i prefer mac os and the design of the laptop. although it sounds stupid like, why buy a laptop because it looks nice? it's just little things like the keyboard being centered, i like the weighting of the keys, the design is clean and durable and since i spent a lot of time looking at it, i don't want it to be an eyesore. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] is it a good idea to buy my name as a .co.uk? .com isn't avaliable and tbh i think it's worth having but idk if £15 for 5 years or £22 inc. whoisguard is a good price

[QUOTE=RoboChimp;44017138]It's taking them longer to develop CPUs that perform better.[/QUOTE] Because the not caring about power usage stratergy seems to be working so well for AMD....
[QUOTE=Brt5470;44009514]They need a really good cleaning but I want to buy some component cables and a nice first part controller for it. And then collect all the cheap PS1 and PS2 classics I can.[/QUOTE] I've actually been eyeing up an adapter that the PS2 puts component into and it outputs HDMI. It would be pretty cool being able to just plug it straight into my monitor and not have to get a separate telly. Also, try and get a hold of a network adapter, you can install an IDE HDD and with FMCB, install and play games off the HDD. [editline]1:11[/editline] Dammit, missed 2 pages.
I'm gone for one weekend, and there's a new YouTube layout. I actually like this one though, the player is in the centre without any browser extensions now.

laughing cos i fucking love cloudflare dns
cloudflare messes up too much. if a post is big, I usually can't post it because cloudflare sees it as spam, and when I finish the stupid captcha facepunch decides to not post it. same goes for editing things
The LDS church's content filter has started to block Facepunch. Proxies ahoy. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] The weird thing is that they don't block reddit, or somethingawful, or random tech websites, but they do block Facepunch.
