The LDS church's content filter has started to block Facepunch. Proxies ahoy. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] The weird thing is that they don't block reddit, or somethingawful, or random tech websites, but they do block Facepunch.
They blocked FP, because of the fedora wearing atheists. [sp]I'm sorry[/sp]
Someone just seriously pulled "I did infosec for 5 years for big banks in Canada" on me in a discussion about the latest SSL vulnerability in OS X. He's also saying it's not trivial to MITM someone's traffic, in a coffee shop. If he's not trolling, Canada's banks are so fucked. I can think off the top of my head 2 ways to fuck with someone in a coffee shop, and the other method works anywhere. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] What the fuck, the videos page is OK on YouTube in the new version, but I just opened up a channel to go into all the channel's videos, and it looks like Hitler had an abortion. They stuck it in a weird frame that wastes shitloads of space.
It's a throw away computer crazy, you can't repair slim ultrabooks or upgrade them. There was a huge leap between the 1st and 2nd gen i7s, but the 4th gen doesn't perform any better than the 2nd. [editline]24th February 2014[/editline] It's taking them longer to develop CPUs that perform better.
Maybe not, but I don't see how you can complain about more efficient manufacturing and more screen on time with same capacity batteries. CPUs haven't staggeringly increased in performance because for the longest time, they haven't been the bottleneck, especially from the viewpoint of the average user. I needed to upgrade from my dual core Athlon a few years ago, but now? I think my i5-2500k will last a good 3 or 4 more years. It'll probably die/socket be outphased before I absolutely need to upgrade CPU.
Literally the only time my CPU is a bottleneck is when I'm rendering video
The only time I wish I had more CPU power is crunching a few VMs. Even then, my RAM becomes the problem more often than not. I'm moving my VM testing stuff to a dedicated server though, ESXi. It's a total non-issue when it comes to audio editing. EVen with track counts in the 100s.
I currently have a Dedicated Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V for my VM needs. Only bad thing, It's a C2D with 2GB RAM, so It ain't really that good for VM stuff. When I'm finished with school, I'm gonna build a real server. Maybe gonna wait for Broadwell.
I want to think this is beneficial but the wording makes me think they're sneaking ads into my friends posts and just asking me if it's obvious enough
For anyone wondering, this is how that computer looks like now: [T]http://i.imgur.com/ULDaDh9.jpg[/T] rip
Why the hell would you destory it?
Pepper;44017544']I've actually been eyeing up an adapter that the PS2 puts component into and it outputs HDMI. It would be pretty cool being able to just plug it straight into my monitor and not have to get a separate telly. Also, try and get a hold of a network adapter, you can install an IDE HDD and with FMCB, install and play games off the HDD. [editline]1:11[/editline] Dammit, missed 2 pages.
Well analog to digital requires a converter, which means latency. But depends. I wish the PS2 had an HDMI option, same with Wii, or Gamecube. I mean those consoles have "digital" video but it's still analog component. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline]
Why the hell would you destory it?
It was older than useful. And it wasn't old enough to be cool.
[IMG_thumb]http://imgur.com/DiOYElD.jpg[/IMG_thumb] This is most fucking stupid homework I've ever had to do. We've got a teacher in training right now and he never checks any of his shit and the questions are retardedly worded. It's infuriating.
It was older than useful. And it wasn't old enough to be cool.
IMO, the case is still pretty cool looking, especially if you put a watercooled (heh) rig in.

The filesize is 'round 538MiB unless I forgot how to math [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] Welp of course I did 67.3MiB

I thought you could just do (((6 * 8) * 700) * 24) / 8 to get 100800 bytes = 100kb But i'm probably wrong.
All this Mac talk makes me unsure to get one.
I'm kinda on the same boat, using Macs at my school gave me a good impression after 3 years of using them. The Macs are actually the fastest computers in the whole school. At the same time I could get a $700 Windows 8 laptop that has the same or better performance than a $1200 MacBook Pro.
For anyone wondering, this is how that computer looks like now: [T]http://i.imgur.com/ULDaDh9.jpg[/T] rip
Those cases still sell for about £40 new gz

On a desktop, performance is pretty much everything, but on a laptop there's a ton of other variables since everything is built in. Many of the $700 PCs have garbage screens, keyboards, touchpads, build quality and battery life because they're trying to sell you on the specs. MacBook Pros and other laptops that are expensive for the specs usually focus on those areas.

The answer comes from (((6 * 700) * (8 * 700) * 24) / 8).

Shame the price lets it down. The sealed up irreparable chassis seems to be the norm in many ultrabooks but I don't see the point of it in the Macbook Pro. It's just another ultrabook with higher end components without the ability to upgrade (what the fuck are you thinking Apple) unlike the Mac Pro. Quite sad.

They should really specify its a bitmap though.
For anyone wondering, this is how that computer looks like now: [T]http://i.imgur.com/ULDaDh9.jpg[/T] rip
What the fuck.

If I had the money to spend and I was actually willing to spend it, I would probably get a MacBook Pro. I like the screen, the look, the keyboard, the aluminium body and touchpad, easy to plug in charger, high quality webcam, solid build quality and not stick out like a soar thumb in the art school. I know it's going to work and not break. Damn school and their Macs, converting me from a Windows PC Elitist to a Mac Snob.
nvm, didn't see all the other replies. Still a stupid argument.
The fuck is that? A TNT2? :v: Edited: Oh shit, it's one of those acrylic cases. Oh right, OS X is all about using keyboard shortcuts and it's sometimes confusing when I'm using Windows and Mac. Control+C is now Apple Key(cmd)+C for copy. Now I sometimes press the Alt key or the Windows key on Windows layout keyboards by accident. Some options in the options menu is hidden so I have to press a modifyer to see them. Wanna change something in the system settings? Press the lock to unlock some of the settings. Maverick is kinda annoying, apparently if I copy 2 files (or more) and the 1st file is done copying I cannot access that file until the 2nd file or all of the other files are done copying. Maybe it was fixed or maybe it was just me but that was super annoying when I was copying a bunch of photos and videos and I wanted to see my media. Also where the fuck is my right click? Oh right, I have to press a modifyer (ctlr? I forgot, I always try them all) for that if I'm using the touchpad or apple mouse. Pretty much none of those issues I've faced would have happened on Windows.

[editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] Well, maybe the copy thing.
