[IMG_thumb]http://imgur.com/DiOYElD.jpg[/IMG_thumb] This is most fucking stupid homework I've ever had to do. We've got a teacher in training right now and he never checks any of his shit and the questions are retardedly worded. It's infuriating.
JPEG, PNG, BMP, what am I working with here
I like and hate the OS X operating system, where is my "Cut"? All I see is Copy. File lose prevention, I have to press a modifier for that. Oh right, OS X is all about using keyboard shortcuts and it's sometimes confusing when I'm using Windows and Mac. Control+C is now Apple Key(cmd)+C for copy. Now I sometimes press the Alt key or the Windows key on Windows layout keyboards by accident. Some options in the options menu is hidden so I have to press a modifyer to see them. Wanna change something in the system settings? Press the lock to unlock some of the settings. Maverick is kinda annoying, apparently if I copy 2 files (or more) and the 1st file is done copying I cannot access that file until the 2nd file or all of the other files are done copying. Maybe it was fixed or maybe it was just me but that was super annoying when I was copying a bunch of photos and videos and I wanted to see my media. Also where the fuck is my right click? Oh right, I have to press a modifyer (ctlr? I forgot, I always try them all) for that if I'm using the touchpad or apple mouse. Pretty much none of those issues I've faced would have happened on Windows.
I certainly wouldn't mind the UI changes from Windows to Mac. If I abandon my PC because of this then I'm so so sorry!
Aren't these really bad for hard drives? Something about vibrations being exaggerated because plastic is soft
All I've heard about these cases was the fact they couldn't reject or contain EMI/RFI. Not sure how bad it really is but of course there's a total lack of shielding.
Uh It means 24bpp. The colour depth is 24 bits. The filesize is 'round 538MiB unless I forgot how to math [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] Welp of course I did 67.3MiB
Yep. I know. I did the proper working on the back. But there are 22 errors through out the paper, and it irritates me that he evidently didn't check it.
None of those are issues, though. They're just different UI design. [editline]23rd February 2014[/editline] Well, maybe the copy thing.
Then those are my annoyances with OS X. Damn UI designs.
Mind explaining how you got that answer? I thought you could just do (((6 * 8) * 700) * 24) / 8 to get 100800 bytes = 100kb But i'm probably wrong.
I believe you really don't need to take into account the 24bit usually. Just the pixels and then how many channels are being used. In this case 3. Atleast that's how all my math ended up usually working out.

Now only if that would work on Apple Mice, oh wait you can't because it's a one-side only click. Modifiers isn't really too much of an issue anyways so I guess it's more manageable that I thought. edit: nvm, that Apple Mouse does have 2 buttons If I go for a Mac as my first laptop, I blame you. <3
The little white mouse? That has three buttons. The rightmost button is bound to a primary click by default. Unless it's an older mouse, but I'm pretty sure they've had more than one button on their mice for a few years now.

Old school friend messaged me asking If i would make a ticket for an event, with request after request (oh can you do x as well, plus y too with examples too)to be done in 2 hours for the ultimate price of £0.00 and the most famous phrase 'I'll owe you big time!'... Uhhhhhhh no.

My Y500 has taught me exactly why I have always bought MacBook Pros in the past. Sure it's got more GPU power than one, and the screen is higher res than a classic one, but it just doesn't feel anywhere near as nice. It's all plasticy and flimsy feeling. The screen isn't as pleasant, the keyboard is mushier, the trackpad is a joke compared to a Mac's. Don't get me wrong, the Y500 is a fine computer, but if it hadn't been $450 off when I bought it, I wouldn't have been happy with my purchase. For $1200, I'd rather spend the price difference to get a MacBook Pro. For $750, it's worth it, however. Next computer, however, I'm going back to the Mac.
right click can be enabled on the white mighty mouse and the magic mouse
found that out earlier, one less annoyance with Macs. Great, now I'm liking macs more.

You can get some pretty awesome hardware in most Windows laptops now, apart from the screen, the touchpad, and the actual casing itself. Those parts always seem to be universally shit-awful. Though to be honest I'd much rather a plasticy laptop that actually works and doesn't empty my bank account. If they can start producing aluminium (or at least nicer plastics) without raising the cost, we might see improvements.
Pepper;44021094']Why not both? :v:
Well the home desktop is probably going to stay as a PC while my first laptop might be a MacBook Pro... So I can still be a Windows PC Elitist and a Mac Snob at the same time.
I believe you really don't need to take into account the 24bit usually. Just the pixels and then how many channels are being used. And I'm kinda tired of the 13" MacBook Pro design because I see it everywhere, so I wouldn't trade my Ultrabook (Asus UX32VD) for anything. The touchpad is actually really good too. In a way I'd say it's better than the Mac's because the back/forwards gesture works everywhere, and not just web browsers. Also there's a minimize gesture for ninja-hiding of things :v:

But I charge a £xx.xx call out fee and £xx.xx for every hour beyond the first hour"
But the way you figure out 3 channels are being used is by dividing 24 bits by 8 bits per byte and ending up with three bytes
It's assumed it's RGB. What about 16bit then, I don't know how the math like that would work.

I think we're all reading into this too much.
Maybe not, but I don't see how you can complain about more efficient manufacturing and more screen on time with same capacity batteries. CPUs haven't staggeringly increased in performance because for the longest time, they haven't been the bottleneck, especially from the viewpoint of the average user. I needed to upgrade from my dual core Athlon a few years ago, but now? I think my i5-2500k will last a good 3 or 4 more years. It'll probably die/socket be outphased before I absolutely need to upgrade CPU.
I'd still like a new CPU though, having to pay $380 for a new CPU that isn't any better than a 3 year old CPU is a bit ridiculous. Have they hit a brick wall with silicon and are prolonging the inevitable? It's great if the intel mobile CPUs have use less power, but on a desktop?I don't really care if Haswell and Broadwell pull less power from the wall. Also with the Ultrabooks, why pay $2000 for a computer you can't fix? Everything is soldered to the board. It's a throw away PC.
It's official, Lenovo is secretly a division of Apple: [IMG_thumb]http://i61.tinypic.com/2rgp6ic.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
Also with the Ultrabooks, why pay $2000 for a computer you can't fix? Everything is soldered to the board. It's a throw away PC.
Because some people have limited backpack space and/or don't want to carry around a 6 pound computer all day every day. With the prevalence of the cheap extended warranty, there's not much call to be able to fix your computer yourself. It'd just void the warranty, anyways. And with any high-quality machine, Mac or Windows, it shouldn't break so much internally that you need to fix it with any regularity. Obviously there are some cases of a high-quality computer breaking, but those are the exception, rather than the rule. And what do you mean new CPU not being any better than a 3 year old one? There have been noticeable improvements with every generation of Intel CPU so far.
In addition, when most few-year-old laptops end up needing a serious fix, they end up getting written off due to lack or expense of spare parts.
