Turned on my laptop this morning and explorer appears to be broken. Won't let me switch to Aero, some programs aren't working properly. Tried going back to a system restore point but apparently disc needed to be checked, checked it and it was fine. But it won't let me restore.

The surface has a good excuse though, as it's a tablet. I don't think it's possible to make an upgradable tablet without also making it bulky and heavy.
As for the MacBook, it seems pretty inexcusable to not even make the ram upgradable or use an mSata SSD.
But you can't generalize Ultrabooks, they're all different.
These discussions about repairs sure make me appreciate my lil old netbook. It's kinda bulky, but I can get to the replaceable bits without even using a screwdriver.

My old netbook was really easy to work on, I didn't even need a tutorial for replacing the screen because the screws are just hidden in the screen bezel behind small plasticy bits. On my Ultrabook I almost expect that I'd be needing a heat gun to replace the screen.

I'm considering selling my x360 and getting a 2DS or something instead. What do you guys think?

I'd stretch and get the 3DS/3DSxl, if nothing else because of the form factor.
Then again I'm still trying to swap old consoles (couple famiclones, that PS2, etc) for a Wii or a PSP or something.
cmd+x
doesn't take long for me to adjust
keeps the menus tidy, pressing alt isn't an inconveniece
press the lock if you wanna change anything instead of a uac prompt asking you before you even see the current setting
not using mavericks can't say

Yeah, the 3DSXL looks pretty nice, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much. Maybe I should just wait for a price drop.
personally waiting on a 3DS lite because the XL was so bulky that it made my hands hurt after a while and it was hard to carry in my pocket but on the other hand the normal 3DS has horrible battery life

What the fuck Github?!
i mean, it fullfills both categories doesn't it.
Can't you buy business laptops anyway if you're looking for repairability?
All I buy nowadays is former business laptops with SSD conversions because they're very mechanically well-designed, dependable, cheap to find replacement / backup parts and polished.
If Dell made an upgraded version of the E4300 that I used for a year and a half, I would've bought one. Though their replacements are awful, so I looked elsewhere. I would've got a Lenovo X230 or something, but the resolution is awful. There aren't a lot of computers with a good battery life and a decent screen resolution while still being repairable.
Anyone here have experience with Bullet?
So I got that new cooler today, installed it in 45 minutes with no hitches.
I totally don't regret this, my PC is now completely silent.

I doubt anyone here has gotten shot before
two hundred dollar custom tooled cartridges.

What sort of shots are we talkin'? Wells or innoculations? :v:
I don't know what's more annoying, a product you want just not existing, or knowing it exists and is sitting in warehouses in your country, yet the company with it in stock doesn't allow consumers to purchase it.

Like for example...?
I've encountered this too but usually it does exist, it just is such niche item that its too expensive to justify buying.

Why do you want that specifically though? Surely there a comparable card that exists that is sold somewhere?
Why do you want that specifically though? Surely there a comparable card that exists that is sold somewhere?
Because its the only low profile 750Ti out there.
I bought a male to female headphone extender so I could actually reach my computer at work. Works great, aside from the FUCKING ELECTRIC SHOCKS
What's causing this? Anything I can do about it? I have some generic HP desktop at work (not terrible, first gen i7, 16GB of RAM).

The worst is when you dream about said product, and when you wake up you're confused as fuck because you don't know where you put it until you realize you were just dreaming.
It ain't grounded, hence your getting the electrical signal.
The PC or the headphone jack?
The PC or the headphone jack?
Headphone jack. The PC will ground through the PSU into the wall.
Headphone jack. The PC will ground through the PSU into the wall.
So is it something I can actually fix or is it just HP making garbage quality computers as usual.
Depends which one. Front or back.
Front. Won't recognize anything plugged into the back.

Seems like its brand spanking new. Like they announced they just released the card a week ago. Might want to be patient. I can't even find the American counterpart (Galaxy brand) anywhere.
Maybe stores just haven't stocked it yet.
aaagh my fucking earlobes
I'm done. Back to using my phone, I guess.
