I am trying to get into Android Ui design, and I am terrible at it. I feel like a painter who just throws paint at the canvas without any idea, and hope for the best.
That's kind of what I'm doing. I even have a fancy Activate Windows 8 flag in the config of the utility, so when you don't have it activated, it looks like this: [t]http://puu.sh/7cy0S/44b07f79f1.jpg[/t] Turn it on and you get one of 8 random "wallpapers": [t]http://puu.sh/7cy7N/61d0a016c6.jpg[/t] (I have written "Fuck Tha Police" as to not disclose where I work. The tool's all internal anyway, so good luck reverse image searching it.) I also wrote the algorithm to get the colors for the tile. If we're gonna use Metro Toolkit, we're gonna make it look like fucking Metro. :v:
looks like adobe and microsoft had a UI baby
Should have seen it 6 months ago. Looked like a microsoft and adobe UI abortion
Looks like the thing I saw on Person of Interest in the Police Dispatch :V
I'm the same way (except that I use foobar2000.) Even if I did want to use Spotify, a lot of the stuff I'd want to listen to wouldn't be on there anyway.
I've been using Spotify less and less these days since it seems to absolutely refuse to link my local copies with its own
when interviewing talk in riddles
I kinda felt a bit sorry to them. Most of them were going "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" at some questions. Needless to say, I think I have found a worthy person. And I'm somehow convinced he's secretly a facepuncher.
I've been using Spotify less and less these days since it seems to absolutely refuse to link my local copies with its own
Mine did that because it was pulling my local files from windows media player and 2 other things (the 3 default options) just go into settings, uncheck all 3, then point spotify to where your musics are stored.
I'm giving cold brew coffee a try for the first time ever right now. I heard about it, thought the idea was cool, looked it up, found some instructions, decided 4 lines of text was too long, and threw some coarse ground coffee beans into some water for 12 hours, and then filtered it. The idea seems cool, and I'm totally going to have to give this another try, after reading some instructions on how to do this properly.
Really? It worked flawlessly for the time he had it, which was 1.5 years I think.
OCZ SSDs have notorious failure rates. If it lasted 18 months its probably fine, but be cautious. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline]
I'm giving cold brew coffee a try for the first time ever right now.
OCZ SSDs have notorious failure rates. If it lasted 18 months its probably fine, but be cautious.
I keep all my important stuff on HDDs. I even have a 1TB partition that is mirrored between two drives.
OCZ SSDs have notorious failure rates. If it lasted 18 months its probably fine, but be cautious.
The ONLY thing that OCZ is actually good at making is RAM.
The ONLY thing that OCZ is actually good at making is RAM.
And afaik they aren't even going to be doing that after the Toshiba aqq.

I need it nowww
12 hours is too long to wait for a cup of coffee. I need it nowww
The end result of the progress is shitloads of what is essentially coffee concentrate, that you then dilute with water, milk or whatever. I'm fairly sure you could easily produce it in a large enough quantity to easily have a constant stream of coffee. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline] Also, anyone have any idea what time Thief will become available?
Also, anyone have any idea what time Thief will become available?
My retail copy arrived like a day ago. I never knew I pre-ordered it.

Dropboxes 500mb can blow me.
Woah, just discovered that I had an OTG USB cable. How convenient, now that I just got my Nexus 5.
What the shit, I had no idea i3 550's were actually any good. http://www.overclock.net/t/1134237/review-i3-550-4-3ghz-vs-i7-2600-4-3ghz-in-games
One of those would be pretty good for a lan or sff rig. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline] or even a Steam Box tbh.
But where the fuck are you gonna find a 1156 nobo these days?
What the shit, I had no idea i3 550's were actually any good. http://www.overclock.net/t/1134237/review-i3-550-4-3ghz-vs-i7-2600-4-3ghz-in-games
That's because CPUs doesn't affect video game performance as much, which is why you wouldn't see a huge gap between CPUs of generations that are not too distinct apart. [editline]27th February 2014[/editline]
But where the fuck are you gonna find a 1156 nobo these days?
You can still find them used just about everywhere.
Pretty sure Frys and Micro Center still sell them, or at least the ones by me have a few in stock.
But an i3-550 has a TDP of 73W, and when overclocked will probably need more power and heat management than that, plus the fact in a small SteamBox you will probably not be using a top of the line GPU due to size and power requirements, so will be dealing with excess heat. On top of that, the benchmarks in that post were done in 2011, and most titles that need high-end machines have got better in terms of core usage than in 2011.

currently facing getting my school account deleted (my high school is integrated with the local community college) because i accidentally ran a script that opens internet explorer infinitely on one of the machines running windows embedded, which was unfortunately running on a server that runs every other embedded machine in the entire school. they also brought up how i downloaded an illegal copy of office, named office.rar. its weird how they got that because i downloaded it straight to my flash drive, and it wasn't saved on the shared network. makes me really curious about what they can and can't see. so right now its either i lose the ability to take college classes forever, or i can't access the computers forever. either way, it could possibly cause me to not graduate to 11th because i need every credit i'm getting this semester, and one of my classes requires to have a computer and a $1k peice of software that my laptop can't run. i also got blamed (kinda, they put full responsibility on my friend who's account got the script put in it) for putting a script in the startup process that also runs internet explorer infinitely. i had a big lie going on it too, which i could have kept, but i didn't realise that there aren't actually cameras in the part of the computer place i ran the script in and they said they were going to security for it. anyways, i fully accept what comes to me.
First time i've watched a podcast featuring Linus (LinusTech) and he says he wants USB butplugs.
Thinking of getting the left side desk piece and using it to rearrange my desk to look something like this in my room. It would let my TV be directly in my view for video, movies, TV, but also for twitch chat and such. Secondly I could easily do vlogs directly across the desk. As well as do greenscreening more easily.
