Not just meet him, I ended up befriending Wil. But I didn't do as good as some. Apparently if you just say "Drunk Pizza." He's in. I'll be using that next time. But there was a couple that got married onboard, at Grand Cayman. I was talking to them last night, they befriended Wil so much so the wife is now an honorary Wheaton and he was the one to give her away at the wedding. They even have his personal contact info. It's fucking awesome.
Nice
So exactly what the fuck am I supposed to wear today?

Transferring a bunch of music of my grandma straight to my NAS over FTP.
I really love this music, listening to it gave me a huge blast of inspiration for Hammer.

it's not terrible when fully updated though
Tried to go to Netflix's en_GB portal to check the price, and it just keeps redirecting me to en_US with prices in $. After a bit more investigation, it turns out my HE IPv6 tunnel is showing my location as America, even though I'm using a London tunnel endpoint.
How the fuck

The end point might be London but the GeoIP DB might say its US.
HE just get all their IP's from a single pool that are all assigned US by the geoip tables.

I stopped liking Wil Wheaton when I actually started watching star trek and also following his twitter feed. I find him really annoying.
I never liked Wil Wheaton cause he just comes across as a cunt.

My mom's Vista Sony Vaio can't run Windows Update
help
So I disassembled the monitor, which was a pain because it has no case screws. Power supply had 2 bloaty caps on it so I guess I'll replace those before thinking about replacing the logic board or the power supply entirely. They're through-hole caps so this should be a breeze.
this monoprice monitor doesn't dim and it's actually been having bad effects on my ability to sleep after gaming for an hour or two before bed
yeah i dont get a friend of mine
prior to even playing a game for the first time, he reads a full walkthrough/strategy guide and goes on wikis and stuff
I'm beginning to think my mouse is shorting out where the cable meets the actual unit, and this kills the USB controller on my motherboard until I reboot. Does that sound likely to you guys? Especially considering the 2 USB 2.0 ports work, and I think they're on a different controller than these 3.0s (or vice versa).

And let me tell you, nothing is more infuriating than having your USB peripherals stop working in the middle of a game of StarCraft.

the only time I need a wiki, is like in games such as Systemshock 2, Minecraft, Dwarf Fortress, and EvE online.

well I can understand for really complicated games or if you're super stuck, but for every game he plays he just waits until IGN has a walkthrough out and reads it and then plays it
anyone want to sell me a 3570k or 2500k?
Check your local microcenter, mine's still selling the 3570ks for $180. Alternatively get lucky on craigslist, I've seen a handful of 2500ks for $100-125 and i7-2600ks for ~200
Every time those i7 deals pop up i'm fucking broke though

Use f.lux. It makes not having a backlight control a lot more tolerable. If your worried about color, set the lighting controls to daylight at all times. Although making the display warmer does make it help considerably. Use Alt + PgUp/Down to control the apparent brightness.
Although, some games do disable flux anyway, but the brightness in game doesn't affect me as much as white web pages.
f.lux is alright once you get past the "Oh god everything is orange" stage.
I did use f.lux for the longest time, then I disabled it when I got this because it seemed like a shame to ruin the IPS colors. I might have to try it again, never knew about the apparent brightness controls.
I disabled flux because i couldn't read the color coding when i ran ls.
