I got my SSD today.
I'd like to run a test like that on my storage HDD but I fear that'd break it somehow. The plastic L part of the SATA port is in the SATA cable so I can't even change the cable if it breaks or something. I've been meaning to get a new drive for some 2 or 3 years now. [editline]12th March 2014[/editline] Oh hey while I still remember, why doesn't Holofication Nation app have download links anymore? I thought that was kind of half of its point?
So the internet at my work and the internet on my phone went down at the same time today. I got scared that the apocalypse was happening.
Disable your mouse from being able to do it. My mouse was so fucking sensitive that it would turn my computer on as soon as it went off.
No, it wakes up like an hour later, but its favorite time to wake up overnight is between 3:30 and 4AM
No, it wakes up like an hour later, but its favorite time to wake up overnight is between 3:30 and 4AM
That sounds like the Windows scheduled maintenance task turning it on. Open task scheduler and disable that shiz.
So, today was interesting Early in the morning, I took an MOS 2010 exam and passed, and I'm now MOS certified! Then, some dumbshit decided to toss a lit cigarette through a window into the basement of the main building on campus and lit some sheets or something on fire, causing everyone to be evacuated and stand out in front for an hour while they determined what happened. Ate lunch, etc. Then, I went in, and decided to take a shot at the MOS PowerPoint exam. Passed it, now certified with that, too. Now all I have left is Excel and optionally Outlook and Access. :v:
That sounds like the Windows scheduled maintenance task turning it on. Open task scheduler and disable that shiz.
It also does it in the middle of the day, like I just got back about a half hour ago after leaving for an hour and hibernating and it was turned back on. I swear it's haunted or something. :v:
No, it wakes up like an hour later, but its favorite time to wake up overnight is between 3:30 and 4AM
For the longest time my HTPC would wake up at 6:05AM every day for about a minute, then go back to sleep.
I wonder if it's a good idea to post from uni wifi, I don't wanna get banned for sharing IPs with some idiot :v:
I wonder if it's a good idea to post from uni wifi, I don't wanna get banned for sharing IPs with some idiot :v:
I'm posting from it right now. I dare you.
For the longest time my HTPC would wake up at 6:05AM every day for about a minute, then go back to sleep.
It doesn't go back to sleep though, and it heats up my little bedroom so I wake up sweating unless I leave my window open and a fan on.
Same here. There's nothing to be afraid of.
I wonder if it's a good idea to post from uni wifi, I don't wanna get banned for sharing IPs with some idiot :v:
I don't have to worry about that. Every device on our university's network gets its own public IP. :v: Plus I doubt many people there are FP'ers. [editline]11th March 2014[/editline] Though I remember getting the IP ban message back when I used Opera Mini years ago.
installing drivers for my 770 right now :> came a day early so i got it on my birthday!
My college blocked FP. The https trick gives me an SSL error so I always need to wait till I'm at home to just browse the forums. It's still retarded considering the fact that the site isn't just games only. Oh and the Barracuda Web filter sucks dick at malware protection. Laptop and my login gets infected a lot from the college wifi and it doesn't protect at all.
Fairly sure my uni doesn't block anything, they just say "Don't look at porn or illegal shit, we'll know if you do"
Im just pissed. Very pissed off. Quite unfair considering Facebook isn't blocked and some NSFW sites aren't. My brain has gears. If I learn is class I refrain from browsing the forums. Oh fucking shit keyboard on this tablet keeps correcting to the wrong words and never properly fixes it.
My school blocks the server serving The Verge's static assets for some reason.
I've had this question for a long while now. Is ASRock good? Like, their stuff looks so cheap, but I do know they make certain complainants for other manufacturer's motherboards. Typically they're more affordable, but is it worth the risk?
Asrock is good for like, prebuilts and facebook machines maybe. I wouldn't go out and buy Asrock hardware.

Third died a year after it was installed.
Asrock board in my HTPC, been run 24/7 since I got it an not a single issue, everything works perfectly. The UEFI support is certainly better than any of my Gigabyte stuff too.
So, because of reasons I'm getting a double paycheck this week, and I'm trying to figure out if I should buy my new graphics card now or wait on it and replace my phone when I change carriers.

I just made it so that my wifi adapter could not wake the pc and it solved it
So, I just got a Philips LCD TV which is like 7 years old, and surprisingly it has 3 HDMI inputs. Got this TV of my grandma because she got a HDTV receiver that doesn't scale properly on this TV, so we swapped it with the one I had in my bedroom which is way bigger. Works like a charm and connected my computer to it. I noticed though, when you turn it on the image is fairly dark, and after a minute or so its better. I wonder why it takes a while to get up to optimal image quality?
Because it's old, and uses CCFL
Yeah, it is old, but not as old as the Samsung TV which was A: Way too huge for my room, and B: It couldn't deal with the HDMI signal of my computer properly. (The image quality was looking horrible, even on the recommended resolution of 1360x768) On my grandma's it suits her needs perfectly fine, so I guess I got a bargain. That's a nice looking TV.
I've started having to use most websites at 150% scale. Even with my glasses, my astigmatism seems to be getting worse or something.
To be honest, I scraped all of these together, the second from left I got from my grandma as she gave it to me, the third from right I got from my father and swapped it with a 17'' monitor I had laying around, and the fourth was given to me by a teacher but wasn't working (failed caps on the transformer board).
