Just streamed for 1.5 hours on twitch. I think I got my settings better setup this time around. Some people report stutters, but 2mbps is already pretty low, and only dropped 62 frames over that 100 minutes.
Oh cool some talk about printers. Any clue what I should buy nowadays? I mainly need something that can photocopy (so, something that has a scanner and preferably can copy a paper without needing to turn the computer on)
Thinking about a laser printer, but dunno if I should go for a color one while I'm at it. Color laser prints come out beautiful but I dunno about the cost of it, and the color toner. Also been looking at "ink tank" inkjet mods, anyone have experience with those?

Sadly any combo scanner/printer things are probably going to be complete garbage

idk, we've been using the MFC line of brother printers for a while and scanning quality seems to be more dependent on the program you use and less on the actual scanner itself (VueScan is my favorite) - unless you're doing photographic stuff. They're really reliable and even though they're B/W, toner refills are basically nothing for how much we print and copy.

I get so little viewers generally, so it really bugs me when people say "why was I not invited"
Edit: Didn't mean to be mean, but it's tough to advertise streams unless I do it like days in advance. So when people tell me they'd join if they knew, it makes me fee like it was a waste of time unless I spent time making sure all the people around me knew.

I've still got a Photosmart C3100 from 2006. Its a miracle it still works.
Of course, printing isn't exactly as much of a thing as it once was.
They used to make great printers. Their new ones are god awful and full of bugs.
The ink is region locked, and has a built in expiration date.
We received a full truck load of 8ft tall pallets of printers from costco that I had to test. I almost got PTSD from all the HP printers I tried to get working.
I highly recommend Epson here
I have a WP-4530, it was a little pricey but it works great, shoots out paper at something close to the speed of sound
Get a brother for strictly document work get an epson if you want to print pictures of mom's pinterest boards

My printer turns itself on and off randomly, takes 5 minutes just to start up, and sets itself to scan something (nothing) all on its own btw. I think this thing is plotting to kill me.

The only way I got my computer to print over the network to my HP printer was by uninstalling the drivers that I got from their support website (that didn't work). I then had to use windows update to install the drivers for a different model HP printer, which magically made it work again.
My HP printer isn't too bullshit ridden, and has been working fine for 2 years. Except for yesterday when it stopped printing black ink entirely. Surprisingly was a vast improvement over our old one. But it's still a cheap looking, black glossy, shitty touchscreen piece of shit.

I had an hp cartridge fail to connect properly to my hp printer. Best buy was like it is your problem now!

I got bitched at by a coworker of a family member once because I couldn't make their 3000 dollar computer that I told them was a scam boot in under 4 minutes (it had a 4800 RPM hard drive with bad sectors, and 2GB of ram running vista). They refused to replace parts because of some incomprehensible leaps in logic, and refused to return the machine. Somehow the fact that it was not working perfectly like they were promised on ebay was my fault.
Once was enough. I'm willing to setup stuff for family and close friends of family for cheap/free, but if you expect me to come in and clean up someone elses catastrafuck of a mess, I'm not doing it for free, and I probably won't work with whatever you wasted money on, especially if I told you what you bought could not possibly work.
I swear. I see people buy stupid things other than computers all the time, but the delusions people have surrounding anything that is related to computers blow everything else out of the water.

Early P4's were garbage tier. I had a Netburst Celery @ 2.4 Ghz that was vastly outperformed by a Tualatin Celery @ 1.4 Ghz.

Pentium 4s are pretty garbage no matter when they were made. I don't think I have ever used a P4 machine that I can say ran smoothly, even when they were brand new custom built machines. Pentium 4 was a dark age.

Nvidia has been very good about supporting older cards.
They're also cutting off support an any card that doesn't support anything newer than Dx10

I honestly don't understand why people are saying P4s are shit. I've never had any problems with them back in the days when they were Intel's flagships CPUs. The only concern was Prescott ran hot, but that's about it.

I managed to get a 2.8 Ghz P4 to run Youtube at 720p. In Flash.
That's practically an achievement right there.
