I think that's just the mainstream gaming community, or the fact that it's a large sub, since I've never found a good general gaming subreddit. games/truegaming/etc devolve into circlejerks. Only good ones are niche (say, gamecollecting or any game's respective subreddit.)
I was getting some sleep and was more or less asleep when I noticed everything became unusually quiet in my room. Usually there's a very slight hiss from my netbook server that I don't usually notice, but when it's gone I can tell. I opened my eyes to check the time on my clockradio. I couldn't see anything where it was. I looked to my right where there's usually light from switches and routers. Nothing. Fuck, I thought. Of all times, why now when the battery is NOT in my netbook. And I almost had 365 days of uptime, too. Crap. Oh well. It was 2 at night.
Looked outside, almost everywhere was dark. It was creepy and cool at the same time.

Same here with the power outage. Looking and Facebook, a lot of people around Denmark have issues with power and water during the last few days.
I replied to almost everyone in that thread. I'm better about criticism in the past, but I can't handle it when someone tells me why I do something is wrong. That's a huge part of the fun. "Last project took a week to capture and I lost a leg, but fuck it, let's do 1000fps"
