Look into credit unions, you might find them preferable. They are not for profit so they take the profit and invest it back in the business, meaning good stuff for you. They are also generally less likely to try to screw you over. They may not be right for you, though, so read around.

Only way for me to get one is for my mom to sign on to it, and the only way for her to agree to sign on to one is for her to use her bank.

Most credit unions will also let you join if you work at a registered workplace. My credit union has hundreds.
I've had a bank account at my local credit union since I was 18. No fees and I get all ATM fees refunded at the end of the month.
It has been over a week since I used a mac, tomorrow is gonna be good.

Yeah, I don't think I can go with a credit union since my mom has bad credit.
Just checking, you're like 16 or 17 years old right?
Yeah, I don't think I can go with a credit union since my mom has bad credit.
Your mom and you are two seperate people. Her credit score has nothing to do with you. She's only needed at most to give the bank consent to open an account for you.
Yeah, I don't think I can go with a credit union since my mom has bad credit.
also that's totally not what a credit union means
it just means that by putting your money into the bank, you're basically buying shares of a privately held institution

Really? I thought I had to make a joint account. Guess thats only with her bank. I'll go talk to her.

Yeah I'm 16.

I'm pretty sure I have to have a legal parent/guardian signed on to a checking account, right?
iris/iris pro is far better than the hd4xxx series

With a 15" rMBP you've got Iris Pro and a 2GB GT 750m. So you've got a pretty good chunk of horsepower when you need it and when you're saving power you still have a good amount of power. Iris Pro will run Source games on high easily at 1200p. You can probably run them at native res even.

Nope, joint accounts are not madatory.

Don't think I posted about it in here but the job I got (which is the reason I could afford that GTX 770) is at a dog boarding place and holy shit the cutest little mother fucker I've ever seen came in a couple days ago. It's a German Shepherd and wait for it
corgi mix. She's got tiny stubby legs and a cute little fuzzy German Shepherd face and I think I might get fired because I want to steal her. I don't work tomorrow but I think she's staying for a little longer and if my manager isn't there I'm totally gonna take my phone back and take a picture of it.

I don't know how the fuck a mix breed like that happens but god damn if it isn't beautiful
Anyone tried a thunderbolt 2 to PCIe box?
I doubt anyone here is crazy enough to spend $1000 on an expansion box

Best thing about owning a toughbook is that you can place it on the ledge in the shower and watch videos while you wash.

Cheap thunderbolt peripherals do not exist. Remember that it's all priced for mac users.
Edited:
Wingar: what you should be saying is
Wingar: they targetted mac because it's so ludicrously expensive, it fits in :v

And for every normal person, get a waterproof case for your phone.

No, they're priced expensive because thunderbolt is ludicrously expensive itself.

They're priced for professional users. They've got expensive controller chips in every cable. They're extremely high performance devices. It's a similar story to FireWire 800. Did you see a cheap FW800 peripheral for the first few years of its life?

Point taken. We'll see in five years if it's still expensive as shit or everyone's already abandoned it. I remember how Apple brought in Firewire as the third coming of christ, shit was always expensive, PC's never really used it and after a few good years they dumped it and everyone slowly followed.

Fucking computer about gave me a heart attack. Got home from work, ate dinner, turned my computer on and.... boot disk failure. WHAT THE FUCK NO, WHY.
Ctrl alt del, restart, and it boots up just fine.

I don't understand your mom's logic there.
Pick another bank or credit union then? There are literally dozens of different financial instituions in the States.
Who apart from Linus would by this:

I genuinley would not mind one. They've actually made a good bit of kit this time around. The only problem is they went SSD only, games are big, the 128GB would fill up fast. I'd minimum go 512GB, so that price is a massive killer.
