I still like the pebble's simplicity. If the screen's don't stay on - permanently, and battery life ain't decent, it's pointless. That's not really up to google though.
To me the pebble gets the balance between feataures and simplicity right.
I like the fact that the Pebble is pretty much one way communication - I can't send texts from it, I can't make calls, and so forth and this makes it feel more like a watch than a tiny computer on my wrist.
Plus I really don't like voice control.

people look awkward doing that half the time anyways.

Yeah. As a Scotsman, fuck voice controls. I don't want to spent 3 minutes on my watch. I should be able to glance at it, and be done, anything more I'll bloody take my phone out.

I can't agree more. I mean people look at you weird here if you're having a phone conversation using headphones with a built in mic, let alone using something like Siri or google voice.
It's one of the main things that puts me off Google Glass.
Long shot, does anyone know anything about telecoms equipment made by "Cray Communications"?
Moved into a new premises and the previous business left behind an entire room of servers (One keyboard is labelled "Netware Server"), rackmount gear. Mostly phone related (There's even a BT Fiber optic line in there, though not active I have the receiving equipment)
Mostly archaic PBX equipment but this "Cray Communications" box is huge... 12u rackmount at a guess, weighs a ton. I want to fire it up and learn more about it but I can't find much online, maybe they changed the brand name?

i remember the good old days of awkward phone calls via bluetooth headsets

Pretty sure my cars radiator is smaller.
Well, I installed Linux on my laptop.
Runs like a charm. Even the touchpad's scroll function works again after many hours of frustration trying to fiddle with the standard Dell drivers.
Right now I've been charging the battery from 0% and it takes longer to go up since 75%

Also, bloody Steam collapsed again.

If we raise $2500 I'll take my current machine and throw it off a 300' cliff, then hike up to the base and try and find what remains.
Oh, and record everything.
I still can't get my head round Windows RT when there are cheaper X86 Windows Tablets.
Oh you mean like the Asus T100?
btw when i get my 680 what drivers should i go for? aren't the 340s unstable as fuck?
The latest is 335.23, where are you getting 340 from?
Oh you mean like the Asus T100?
Asus T100, Venue 8 Pro, Toshiba Encore 8.
I mean the Nokia 10.1 RT tablet is currently discounted here to £300 (usually at £400), and you could pick up a Encore 8, Monitor, BT Keyboard, and Mouse for arround that much.
Of course the Nokia tablet is 10.1 inch instead of 8, has a 1920x1080 screen, and is probably built much better, but even then what you can do with it seems exteremly limited.
And the Dell 11 inch Bay-Trail tablet is only £20 more than the Nokia RT tablet at full price and has a 1920x1080 screen too.
I just don't see where RT fits in.

If you want a cheap tablet to only do tablety things just get an android tab, if you want an expensive one get an iPad.

Some of the ipads are not even that expensive anymore.
Also RT was made more for those people that are onto that APPS etc.
The good thing with RT is that you can actually do some productive work with a full Office suite.
But yeah x86 windows 8.1 tablets like the T100 are much better.

I can't seem to go one play session (~dozen games) without my computer freezing :(
[editline]18th March 2014[/editline]
and it's weird, I either slowly lose audio or audio beings to loop (but I can still move my mouse cursor and animations in hearthstone work but the game is otherwise unresponsive) until the computer just completely freezes and I have to reboot

I'm in Portugal, it's pretty nice. Bought a cool looking clock and dropped my video camera so the LCD has a wide white segment missing, but getting a new LCD is pretty cheap so I'm not hating myself too much.

Unless the beta drivers came out today, they aren't out yet.

What the hell, I missed that.
Drove 70 miles to the bank today (in a nice rental dodge challenger), they needed a state ID. Went to the local MVD, they needed a birth cirtificate. Drove 70 miles back down to my house to get the birth certificate. Went to the local MVD, they need a state birth certificate, not a hospital one... welp, guess where that is? Texas! 1000 miles away...
