Oh boy here comes another fucking drama storm.
I'm just going to smile and say it's okay. Besides, if this job goes through we'll be budgeted for a new machine in two months.
He could even compress audio at the same time.
Radeon R7-260X 2GB OC for $90... y/n? this is for that Dell Vostro 410 I got the other day, I already ordered a CX430 since it had a $20 rebate and was on sale for $40
you pmuch get what you pay for with the 260X, i think it would do most 1080p games fine being around half the power of the R9 270x / GTX760 iirc

The card I linked is a non-Ti GTX 750 so if that's the case it would quite slower than the 260X, I think. The 260X is only two weeks old and hasn't been registered yet, so the warranty isn't activated afaik. My friend selling it since he only ordered one but got two, and the seller won't reply to his emails or phone calls so he's just gonna sell it to me.

Looks like i might be getting a new card sooner rather than later :v:
What's your internet speeds?
100/10 I'm using my VPS though, which measures at aprox 500/200~
Going with a case that can't accept a full ATX PSU is going to cripple you in future upgrades
...but that case uses regular ATX power supplies?
Ehhhhh... do I really need 16gb of server memory? I mean, its got 2gb right now, 4x512MB, with 2 slots left over. So the question I have is this, spend $20 for a pair of compatible 4gb sticks to go in the other 2 slots, netting 10gb of ram? orrrrr spend $45 for 2 pairs of 2gb and a pair of 4gb, netting 16gb, and toss/store the 4x512mb sticks?
Steam just did another boo-boo.
test test -video- [editline]24th March 2014[/editline] cool it works, time to self host all my videos instead of using youtube
It loads half the video as soon as you lload the page, I'd say it's a bad idea embedding it like that if you like to put your bandwidth to good use.
Steam just did another boo-boo.
It's getting rather bad as of lately.

Yeah, I'm picking up the R7 260X tomorrow and the power supply already arrived. Tomorrow is gonna be a fun day.
My new 50/5 internet speed is amazing. it's like living a new life. everything is so fast. In a few years, we get 100/10 internet connections available. I can't wait!

We just got a new connection at work with a bunch of static IPs - Speedtests out to 143mb/29mb. We used to run the entire office of a pair of 3G modems because there was no hardwired service available which on a good day with an external building-mounted antenna got a hilariously unreliable 3mb connection. Doing software updates takes minutes rather than hours, its fantastic.
Mmmmmmmmm more ram is better. Thats it, dropped $40 for 16gb. $65 invested so far in this decade old server. I hope she serves us well. Lets see how long we can go without proper hard drive caddies.
No matter how fast your internet is, Steam's still a piece of shit.
I get 7Mb/s from Steam. Downloaded like 7 gigs in 15 minutes.
I get 7Mb/s from Steam. Downloaded like 7 gigs in 15 minutes.
No I mean how often it goes down. I get 6MB/s.
It loads half the video as soon as you lload the page, I'd say it's a bad idea embedding it like that if you like to put your bandwidth to good use.
When I tried downloading it at home last night, it was going at about 100 KB/s...but it was wildly inconsistent. It would download a chunk. Wait about 30 seconds, then another chunk, 10 seconds, another chunk, 20 seconds, etc. Also if I tried to save the video in Firefox it got corrupted, but playing it as a stream worked fine. It was bizarre. Also tracert said it took about 250 ms and 13 hops to reach Denmark from South Dakota, probably just an inconsistent stream. Shouldn't have taken long considering its only 20 MB. But yeah, that's why you need to use an actual host for "large" files, especially streaming.
700Kb/s to 1.5Mb/s It's also region and server caching as well. So you might find changing servers to a USA or another UK or euro server to be a lot more faster. [editline]25th March 2014[/editline] Maybe you can stream outlast at 1080P at 60 FPS :v:
I'm gonna give streaming another try, especially since I now have 5 times the upload bandwidth, which would make the stream much more pleasant to watch.
It loads half the video as soon as you lload the page, I'd say it's a bad idea embedding it like that if you like to put your bandwidth to good use.
have a cap on 1TB each month, so I don't expect it to consume too much. I'll definitely keep an eye on the usage though
It was really good quality actually when you first streamed, about x5 better then what my ADSL2+ can push out on a multiplayer game with no lag.
The main Problem was that the stream was lagging ~15 seconds behind. May just have been twitch.
