I get what you mean, but the only times I ever host a video or two is when I want to share a particular moment in a game, or something small I did so I don't imagine it being too heavy on my VPS' resources?
you have a point about people being from for example America or straya (VPS in Europe) though. I'll mess some more around with it, but I'll keep an eye out on bandwidth and general feedback regarding buffering times whenever I post a video

Most people I know have at LEAST 10Mbps. I'm pretty sure you can get acceptable 1080p60 video at 6-7Mbps, but I'll experiment with that later today...

I urge you to look at Akamai's state of the Internet. 10Mbps is nowhere near common.

To be fair, people who have slower net in areas where it isn't available, tend to not be interested in consuming massive amounts of HD video streams.
I'm not saying it isn't a problem, but the raw figures there will give you some misleading ideas.
I'm on a 5/6 mb/s connection and I can only sustain 720p video.
