So I'm at work, and my current task is getting our system to talk to some other person's system properly, and the SSL handshake is breaking. We're checking for incompatibilities, when my counterpart on the other side asks what platform our system is running.
That's when I had to explain to him that we wrote a financial system in fucking PHP.

Probably like a 6, maybe 7. All I had to do was point the finger at management, and say that by now we have too much legacy code to be able to replace (it's only 100KSLOC on the core side, but there's also only two programmers on the project right now, and despite PHP being PHP it works fairly well (at least the parts I wrote - the ones the marketer/manager/programmer wrote are rubbish, but we're rewriting those)).
Now, if the clients had gone with the first company they went to, the ones who wanted to build it as a Wordpress site, *then* it would have been a 10.

Today I implememented SSL communication for my Storage management Client.
It's the most secure implementation. It just accepts any SSL cert. Done.
