Possibly trading the goddamn cursed Xbox for a Samsung S3 "mini". I assume "mini" means "the one that's manufactured here because we can't afford the big-boy phones because 50% IMPORT TAX". It's nothing I can afford to walk around the street with, but it's better for trading it again than the Xbox. :v:
Are you gonna be like that guy on craigslist that started with like a bike and kept trading for stuff until he ended up with a brand new Porsche?

The s3 mini sucks, why not get a moto G?
Or a Lumia 630 Its around the same price as your s3 mini and much better.

I hate when that happens. So Amazon, what do you sell for a penny?

According to this site, the closest is one of these things for six cents.
I have a 3TB WD Red drive in my home server for mostly movies and tv shows. Since I have a ton of stuff on there, I was considering getting another drive for redundancy. Would it be worth using Windows Server's software raid1 or should I just have it sync up once a day?
Don't use software RAID.
It's fine, as long as you don't ruin the threads on the mounting holes. Keep in mind that an SSD has no moving parts, you could use double-sided tape to mount an SSD and it would cause absolutely no problems.
I use velcro on my SSD and when I get my next SSD I'm gonna stick it on top of my old SSD using it. It's probably the best solution.

backing up movies and tv shows is a waste time imo, just keep a folder of your .torrent files on a backup and bite the bullet if it dies, but Reds are ultra reliable in my experience. I'd say just get another drive and expand your library

I also keep my photos and other large files on there, so I thought I might as well back up everything.

well he said he was trading so I don't think he has looked for/found a trade offer on a Moto G.

just curious, what "large files" do you have? You don't back up your pagefile for some reason do you? And I doubt you have a 300gb excel spreadsheet
Don't use software RAID.
Don't use software RAID on Windows.*
It's fine on pretty much all the other platforms that are worth mentioning, and it's actually smarter to use software RAID on Linux than hardware RAID, in a lot of cases.

Photos taken in RAW, virtual machine VHDs and video I've recorded from Fraps is most of my non-tv/movie stuff on there.
I'd love cloud backup, but 1Mbps is limiting for that.
Well you can just trickle that data up, but I think the main issue is datacap not really bandwidth. If you don't change it often then the bandwidth might not end up being too big of an issue.

Watch old Disney movies the way they were intended. In horribly low resolution with poor image quality and terrible sound.
Then cry from the nostalgia.

why have I not seen this before
Then cry from the nostalgia.
There are at least 5 movies in there that will make me cry :v:

I have a cache of old VHS movies, wat do?
Do what I did, get 3 DVD recorders and 3 VHS machines and transfer them to DVD over 2 weeks. Then copy the DVDs to hard disk. Then give them to charity so you avoid any guilt. If they were laser discs, I'd keep them or give them to Pentium obviously he'd be paying postage.

Having any "smartphone" of any kind is an auto-oh hey, let's mug this guy for his fancy looking cell phone and sell it for dosh, kind of thing in many places in the world. Having a Nokia on the other hand is, hey this guy has a nokia, let's not mess with him because his phone is a brick and will crack our skulls with it.

I don't have my phone out on display when I'm outside, and it's a $30 Nokia. It's not the increased danger, it's the thought of losing ten times what I usually lose when I get robbed.
So is this like SA's shit that pisses you off thread?
