Hardware raid can fail in interesting ways though. The CPU cycles thing is fairly negligible unless you are powering a insane amount of drives. I am presuming you are talking about RAID 1 ofc. If you are going for RAID 0 then I guess thats a whole new world of PC tuning.
I was thinking about RAID5.
Hardware RAID has the additional benefit of being absolutely hilarious to watch when the controller dies, and everyone in charge of the server realizes that the RAID setup won't work unless they get the exact same model of the RAID controller, that's been EOL for the last 5 years.

You can get software which can emulate the controller, it lets you get the data off.
Everyone with an IQ higher than a potato buys either something like an Areca, which are compatible across versions, or has replacement parts.
That's how you do it correctly, the problem comes from when you enter a company where the guy you just replaced was an incompetent ass, and he set up the hardware, and you don't have budget to fix it. Though, in that case, not really your fault if something fucks up.
Ooh, a parcel [t]http://s15.postimg.org/519dnus97/2014_03_31_11_06_09.jpg[/t] Wait, it's 3 parcels taped together! [t]http://s15.postimg.org/eblhre2yz/2014_03_31_11_22_35.jpg[/t] Awesome [t]http://s15.postimg.org/ox5d3e9aj/2014_03_31_12_00_27.jpg[/t] Sitting on the floor cos my multi-monitor stand isn't here yet, left one looks naff because I can't find my HDMI->DP cable and its running off VGA. Got all 3 for just over £200 in total as they were brand new but missing stands, but that doesn't bother me as I'm only going to mount them on a triple-arm stand anyway. It would have cost me more to buy 2 more of my LG IPS than it would to buy the 3 of these Dell IPS screens, so bargin imo.

I'm not gonna trust a 10.4Ah battery that costs less than $11 until I see some reviews Rather not walk around with an IED in my bag :v:
I'm not gonna trust a 10.4Ah battery that costs less than $11 until I see some reviews Rather not walk around with an IED in my bag :v:
There are very little to no reviews, although there was one video review on YouTube that was actually in English that sounded like this charger was good. I couldn't even find a written review in English that wasn't simply just a spec sheet and news. Here's the one video unboxing/review I found It's apparently hard to find in China and exporters charge a mark up to around $30 or more.
I wouldn't buy it just because there are so few reviews.
I'd rather spend more money on a "name brand" charger that I know isn't going to explode
Apparently Macbooks have shitty SATA cables in them that break for no reason. A friend of mine's Macbook suddenly stopped seeing the harddrive, and the harddrive works fine. Did some research, and it's somewhat common that the SATA cable just stops working all of a sudden. At least the computer is still under warranty...
I'd rather spend more money on a "name brand" charger that I know isn't going to explode
Xiaomi added insurance for each one so I don't know how that's supposed to work. I haven't found any articles or anything of this thing exploding yet.
Why not buy a http://www.nokia.com/us-en/accessories/accessory/dc-19/ It has 3200 Mha. Or what are you going to charge? Linus also recommend these high cap chargers : http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=as_li_qf_sp_sr_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=aps&keywords=pc26000&linkCode=as2&tag=linustechtips-20
My laptop provides power from USB ports while in suspend, I just use that for mobile charging if I need it. During suspend, one of the USB ports somehow switches from USB host mode into charger mode and provides more than 500mAh, charges up my Nexus 7 really fast.
If you're having second thoughts about that model I would recommend again the one that I bought. http://www.amazon.com/New-Trent-iCarrier-Smartphones-Micro-USB/dp/B003ZBZ64Q This isn't the exact model I have as this one charges over USB whereas mine charges through a DC plug, which personally I prefer.

So I guess I can say I want a power bank with the same reasons why people want those external gas-powered electricity generators.

My tutor today gave me one of those roll up keyboards as punishment for constantly smashing my fingers on the keyboards. I'm considering bringing in my Model M as revenge.

He does have a point though, with all of these graphics cards and different motherboards available, the normal PC users are pretty much confused. On the other hand, if we wouldn't have all these different brands and versions, hardware would be a lot more expensive than it is nowadays. And their naming isn't helping at all, take nvidia as an example. Back in 2006, GT meant it was better than the standard version, today GT is the standard, if not worse. E.G. a 9800GT is way better than a 220GT, now you could say that obviously the higher number is better, but a 260GTX on the other hand still out performs the 9800GT by length.
It's an Asus, right?
Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E325. I'm guessing it's a common feature nowadays.

Not entirely, but if you don't at least do a google search of the product you're planning on buying versus its competitor(s) and it ends up being worse than said competitor(s) you have nobody to blame but yourself.
Well my router just set a new record for awfulness, one disconnect from the internet and then what I presume to be a DNS failure requiring a restart. Little if anything for a replacement though. Birthday coming up but the need for a new hard drive in my PC is a little more urgent.
The PlayStation vita has a 3000mah external battery pack for $25. It works with any USB cable
