Anyone Talking about more than 10,000 mAh and actually using the milli SI-prefix needs to stop. Like seriously, It's 100 Ah, like seriously, why would you use a prefix to make numbers larger? I get that you do it for a 1,500 mAh battery, because phones did it a long time, but jesus, there has to be an end to this.
10,000 mAh is 100 Ah? Did I miss something here?

I guess the next big thing will be making kilometers the same as a scoville heat unit
My Windows 8.1 rig has made it to almost 11 days uptime without any discernible performance issues or bugs, which I'm pretty sure is a personal best

Gunna have to reboot in a bit tho, need to get into my OS X drive :(
I've got to do the ol' faithful way of figuring out if ram is going bad
Try different combos of sticks until problems stop happening

I don't usually hit zero that many times, but because someone forced me to bring up the 10,000 mAh I had to, so I just put wrong zeros okkkk??? SEE THIS IS WHAT WRITING IT LIKE THAT DOES TO US!!!
My most recent windows uptime record is 49 days :v:

I think my AMD Windows 7 machine had close to a 90 day uptime before I had to restart it to make a hardware change. The P4 Windows 2000 was pretty damn rock solid though.
Why not just turn your pc off?
Why not just turn your pc off?
Mine are usually servers, which run 24/7 anyway. My desktops and laptops I rarely allow to make past a couple days uptime and I always do full shutdowns.
The time it takes my task manager to load has always been as long as it takes it to "animate" - the issue for me is always when a fullscreen app blocks mouse input to the task manager making it almost impossible to kill the app.
I've had that happen with both full screen apps and apps blocking most of the screen, I just control it blind using the thumbnail preview. :v:

I finally memorized the shortcut to move an application with only the keyboard, and move it over to my second screen (Where it usually stays open for this exact reason)
i just use keyboard navigation and the hover preview
arrow keys to select, delete to kill, press enter to accept

It's pretty nice, I upgraded from Jelly Bean, and so far the OS basically feels generally "faster". Not talking about UI "lag" or stuttering, as I haven't experienced that since Honeycomb, it's more in the way that it feels like things load/open faster, and it also seems like it's become even more efficient.
My laptop died recently so I'm back to using my old 2006 Acer Aspire, complete with a Turion 64 x2 processor, Geforce Go 6100 video card, and a whopping 1 gig of ram!
I'm actually very surprised at how much I can do on this machine, so surprised that I might hold off getting a replacement for a while longer. It serves me well. Using XP probably helps too.

The needs for average computing have sort of leveled off the past 6 years. You can pick up a Core 2 Duo machine and for the most part, it won't feel that much slower than a modern PC. My 2006 Core 2 Duo laptop gets me along fine for web browsing, HD videos, etc. You don't really notice a huge difference until you start getting into resource intensive applications like games or video encoders.
I have joined the GALANT masterrace.
It's true.
Since no one wants them I picked up a bunch of Dual core (With hyperthreading) atom boxes with 4GB of ram and the Nvidia ION chip. I put windows 7 Pro on each of them and ended up with a bunch of machines powerful enough for use by customer service agents that cost next to nothing.
Most of their applications are browser based now anyway so the hardware just needs to run Chrome at a decent pace, which it does.
Why not just turn your pc off?
mine takes minutes to start up, and i usually leave stuff on to continue the next day
also i don't have an electric bill so that's nice
I split the power bill three ways. My computer has a Fermi GPU and a first gen i7. I shut everything down.
Just got this for a pack of beer:

I fixed a pc and a phone for a friend of my brother. He mentioned me he had this old arcade that he wasn't using anymore and i asked if a pack of 6 beers was fine for it. He accepted the offer.
