Jesus christ this damn assignment
We have to do a report detailing the differences between Windows and Linux. How, why and when it's used, along with the history and development of both, and why Windows is more popular than Linux
Not hard at all, especially that it's a group task split between 6 people, what's so hard?
There's a 1500 word limit, condensing that much information into a tiny word count is fucking HARD
[editline]8th April 2014[/editline]
I'm not even done writing the Linux section and we're at 2000 words already

It's been 5 hours, and the guy is still installing gentoo.
I almost feel bad for him.
1 Kernel fucked up. Now im gonna allow him to use genkernel in hopes he has a working kernel.
Finally got into the Atom beta, but don't have a Mac :(
Guess I'll have to, uh, "set up" a Hackintosh again
Better have a supported board, nothing worse than having to load from USB every time .
Well shit, went through the Telstra chat to have my phone number ported to the new account a few hours ago, expected it to be done some time tomorrow
Phone suddenly had no service, swapped SIMs, works

I do, I had a hackintosh before but I tried updating it to a newer version of OS X and it just died. So I said fuck it.
Still have the ~200gb partition on my drive... probably could free that up for something else...
I've moved to a new house two weeks ago and I still don't have internet because of a broken adsl line
They gave us a 3G stick with unlimited internet while we don't have internet. A lady from the company called us 4 days later and told us someone used 650fr. worth of mobile internet but it turned out to be the 3G stick.

It's a Text editor written by the Github guys. Currently it's in a "Closed" beta. Currently it's OSX only.
Was a bitch to get into. Luckily I got some beta keys left.

I remember using VB6 back in Vocational School six years ago, I think. Or was it seven? Or five? I don't even remember anymore.
I remember writing a basic game in VB.Net in high school.
Never again.

Are you going to make him actually set up a system on Gentoo or are you going to be satisfied if he gets it to boot?

I'm gonna go until Xorg works, and then let him install DWM.
Does he know his video hardware?
Does he know his video hardware?
It's a VMware VM, so he probably has to install the vmware driver.

Could I just buy a domain from somewhere and set a subdomain to redirect to my home (dynamic) ip?
Updated to Windows 8.1 Update 1.
Some great improvements. makes using metro on big monitors a bit better.

Yes you could, but it would not be updated automaticly if your IP changes. For that you need somekind of application or script.
Aren't there dozens of sites that do the exact same thing nowadays?
Sign up at Afraid.org and set your domain's nameservers accordingly.
There you go, Dynamic IP with a proper domain.
There's countless other services like it.
The company called us to choose a day we'd be available so a technician could come to repair it. They told us Wednesday between 8 and 12. I told them I wasn't sure if i was home by then and told them I would call later. I called them later and they then told me they would be only available on Thursday next week. fuck.
