You don't really have have same level of precision on a button that is like 3 mm deep though.
Or the same feeling. I liked the idea of all buttons being pressure sensitive, but the execution was pretty crappy. It's not linear, but it's not quite a perfect curve either, it takes a while to get used to and to use it right (everyone, EVERYONE slits some throats by accident on their first MGS3 run.)
am i the only person who liked the wiimote?
Most of us like the Wiimote but it doesn't exactly compare to a traditional controller
which is fine because Nintendo generally doesn't bother to actually compete anyway

nintendo is in their own little world which has its pros and cons
imo, the wii u pro controller is one of the better contollers I've used
DS4 > Wii U Pro > X360 > DS3 > Xbone
[editline]14th April 2014[/editline]
Xbone's controller is at the bottom since I just got one and I'm still getting use to it. haven't used it with any shooters yet, I've only played Ryse which was suprisingly more than just ok
since it came out a year before everything else it managed to really get a pretty decent library of games, tons of good 1st and 2nd party titles with more to come (my excitement for MK8 is through the roof atm). but of course the 3rd party titles are worse that dog farts atm
and off-screen play is awesome. I can play Ghosts, Windwaker HD, or Super Mario 3D World while in bed or watching something on TV out of the box
All I want from life is a 360 pad with a microswitch-based dpad. It's such a good controller, feels great in the hand, and the weight is just right. DS3s feel really light and fragile, even compared to DS2s.
Have you tried the xbone controller? It's probably not microswitches, but the pad is separated and clicky.
I've heard people say having one stick higher is more precise, which is pointless because it's the left stick, the one you use for movement :v:
Driving games.
The 360 controller is seriously a beast for driving games.
After being actually happy with my computer setup in terms of performance. Then I can finally focus on a new thing which is noise level.
I've noticed my GIGABYTE 7870 GHz Edition being one of the loudest components within my case.
Is there any solution to how I could reduce the noise level?
I've tried manual fan control, it works yes. But then it's always that level - I would love some kind of tool where I could reduce the automated target speed.
Is there anywhere where I could maybe get some new fans with lower noise level? as this would be ideal to me.

MSI Afterburner lets you set a custom fan curve. Presumably, the software it is based on, Rivatuner, does also.
I need some vidya that's like Deus Ex HR but not DXHR, already beat it
God fucking damnit.
I need a Server that has more than 8GB available for some critical VM.
Ï'm in some fucking shit, since the Server we bought doesen't want to eat the fucking RAM. We bought some other RAM, and it would not work aswell.
Now we have tried to put it into another PC (Dell Optiplex) that supports up to 16GB.
First we tried the first type of RAM. It booted to BIOS, but then it tried to load any operating system, it instantly crashes to BIOS. Same with the other type of RAM.
We tried memtest, but it would crash and artifact the screen after 5 seconds of it running.
Fuck shit, I'm done with PC hardware. Piece of fucking bananas!
[editline]15th April 2014[/editline]
Fuck yes, I found a spare Hyper-V Server with enough RAM.
[editline]15th April 2014[/editline]
FUCK!!!
Server 2008 R2 does not support .vhdx containers.
Kill me please.
[editline]15th April 2014[/editline]
We called up Dell Support.
My aprentice tried to put in Non-ECC RAM, and their products aparently only Accept ECC RAM.
:/
[editline]15th April 2014[/editline]
Holy shit, Dell gave us some possibilities of RAM:
4GB of compatible RAM costs 120$.
If we want to have 24GB of RAM, it would cost us 600$.
Jesus fucken christ thats a lot of money.
Got my 270X to 1150/1550 stable, Furmark pushes it to ~65C without PP and 80 with it, also i get much higher framerate with it on, weird.

CDs are pretty damn rad (and underappreciated since everyone's gushing over vinyl records so much.)
At the moment, I just use my computer, so it would be awesome to have a great CD player (or even one of those fancy OPPO players that does Blu-Ray, DVD-Audio, SACD and CD that I could never afford.)

Everyone knows the true best audio format is Blu-Ray Audio.
The Dark Side of the Moon on Blu-Ray has three different mixes of the album (in 24/96) and extra video content like live footage, a documentary and some other stuff. How is that not the raddest shit ever?
Holy fucking shit, we have found a notebook with 16GB of RAM, that we can abuse the fuck out of.
There is a god!

Crisis averted.

I'd love one.
To be honest I'd love any business machine that's well built with nice graphics.

the nostalgia
That notebook literally was a lifesaver. If it wasn't here, I'd have to go out and buy a PC with 8GB of RAM out of my own money.
The problem is that my boss is in Holidays, and im the highest Ranked IT guy at work currently, so decision making lies on me, but I got orders to spend as little money as possible. we were only allowed to buy RAM for 200$ (8gb).
The problem is that the replacement RAM would take 2 weeks to arrive, so We would need to have a spare Computer to host the VM for a limited amount of time. Hardware which we would not have (until we have found that notebook).
Today was a tough day. Atleast we are still on time for the big deployment.

Doing IT, I sometimes feel like a wizard. Doing the impossible. improvising to hell and bejond.
That feel when everything looks red, and you stand before your inevitable doom, and then you have this small idea that shines so bright that it solves all your problems. Beautiful.
This is why I love being a Sysadmin.

I have 2 for some reason. :v:
The whole tower is just gathering dust though.

While we are sort of touching on the subject of audio, I got a free Onkyo tape deck from my grandfather. Not that I have much use for tapes (my parents have assloads of them), but it would be sort of cool to fix.
But anyhow, it seems that it only plays for a few seconds and then it stops (fast-forward and reverse just sort of get stuck for a second, and then stop). It only looks like one spindle is moving, but there is audio at least. I want to say it has a bad belt but I've never really messed with tape decks before. I also only got to play with it for a bit before heading bak to school, so I haven't taken it apart. I did find a service manual for it though.

it's good, just had to exclude the website. can't recall malwarebytes being so aggressive before the overhaul
Just helped my dad update his system from XP to Windows 7 yesterday.
We both agreed that it was a bit sluggish on his old-ish machine, so we decided to get some more RAM for it, and installed that today.
I ask my dad if he thinks it helped, and he promptly opens Firefox, checks the weather and answers "Yes".
He also likes Windows 7 so far, especially because he thinks it wasn't very logical (in XP) to press "Start" to shut the computer down.
Love you dad <3
My mom keeps surprising me.
I called her today to tell her I was going to a friend, and she told me she needed me to check why our internet was down. Came back home and immediately found out why.
She was cleaning behind our TV drawer where our network equipment is, and she brutefully tore off the wall splitter which SHOULD be on the coax wall socket, and nearly broke off the coax plugs on it.
[T]http://i.imgur.com/KChPfJ8.jpg[/T] Its that white box on the wall.
But most surprising of all, she managed to take the fucking server offline even after I restored the network connection, forcing me to reboot it.
(I know, I need to get a case for this)
someone is going to rifle through that closet and knock that PSU straight to your mobo... :/
