why did you upgrade from the titan to the 780 ti, then to the 290? wouldn't think any of those cards are too different in terms of performance
Well i got the titan for like 400$ and then i got to upgrade it to a 780 ti for free.
I didn't like the noise of the reference 780 ti so i looked at aftermarket ones which cost more at the time of looking at it, so i said to myself fuck it sell the 780 ti and buy a asus direct cu ii r9 290 OC which has in terms of performance almost the same performance as the 780 ti. and the Asus direct cu ii r9 290 OC is actually the cheapest non reference gpu out there.
Its as cheap as a reference gpu but its almost if not the same performance as a 780 ti.

They only need to sell 45k to beat the Wii U? That's like two weeks of sales.
They only need to sell 45k to beat the Wii U? That's like two weeks of sales.
I think he's trying to say that they need to sell 45k units per week for the whole year in order to pass the Wii U. Currently they're sitting at ~85k per week, so I really don't know why he thinks it'll be so impossible, though.
Nvidia stronk
i have a 570.
I never had any CPU and GPU from AMD ever. I've always been a Intel+Nvidia person.
(primary) Desktop CPUs:
486DX -> Celeron 300 -> Athlon XP 2800+ (iirc) -> dual Xeon X5150s
Desktop GPUs:
VGA card -> GeForce 2 MX (still used in my backup desktop) -> Radeon X700 -> I think I had something in between these two but I can't remember -> Radeon X1900 -> Radeon 6870
Laptop CPUs:
Pentium -> Pentium II -> Pentium M -> Core 2 Duo T8400 (iirc) -> Core i7 3610QM
Laptop GPUs:
Rage 3D -> Intel GMA -> GeForce 9600M GS -> GeForce 660M
I'm actually surprised how ATI/AMD-heavy my history is.
I was always an intel-nvidia person but for whatever reason I own 3 R9 270s now
core 2 duo>core 2 quad>i5 3570k
geforce 9800gt>gtx670
my history is pretty short
and very master-race
nvidia drivers make a good bit more sense than AMD ones especially when it comes to SLI
[editline]f[/editline]
muh automerge
The proprietary drivers from AMD for Linux still suck balls, which is why I decided to go for Nvidia for my next GPU when I get to that point.
But the funny part is, the open-source drivers for AMD are getting to the point where I could very happily buy an AMD GPU next, and use the open drivers in Linux, and the AMD ones in Windows (if I kept a Windows installation around at that point).
With open drivers, there's no compatibility issues when it comes to software versions, which is a damn big selling point for me.
P3>P4>i7 920
Old ATI card > 9500 GT > 9500 GT > ATI 5970 > GTX 560Ti
AMD something @ 1.2GHZ -> E5200 @ 1.5GHz (because incompatible mobo, fucking prebuilts) -> i5 3570k
NVIDIA MX440 -> ATI HD 4650 -> AMD HD 7850.
I still have a machine in the other room running an Athlon 2600+. My dad uses it for twitter and checking the weather.
I got it when all the rich white kids at school were gushing about their 3 GHz Pentiums but I told them I would rather spend that extra money on Ribena and yu-gi-oh cards and I think I gave one of them buyers remorse a little bit.

For you people with custom domains, what do you do for your emails on those domains? I'm looking at Google Apps but it seems expensive at $5/month for an e-mail that isn't my main one.

That happens to me an awful lot. I just slowly scoot the keyboard away from the desk while I'm working and sure enough, I'm leaning over the edge of the desk.

Apparently outlook is good for free emails, Google Apps is only good if you want to pay or got grandfathered in like I did

You can't sign up for outlook free anymore either. It's been replaced with 356 that you have to pay for, it's only existing emails on existing domains that are being honoured.

I'm using the desktop (Office 365 subscription) version of Outlook for mine. If you're a student, I believe there's a cheap version of office MS offers.

seconding gApps, although i'm grandfathered to 10 free users
[editline]22nd April 2014[/editline]
tbh i'd actually pay for the paid version of apps if i had only a single email, but since i have 3, it's not worth it
the grandfathered apps doesn't support the package tracking/hotel/restaurant/flight tracking cards in google now

I don't even know how to write code in this language, but I would figure out a script that has "add recoil force" as a comment in it probably isn't the best code to be using for removing recoil.
