holy shit http://sunnyday.mit.edu/papers/therac.pdf It's really long, but from what I've read so far, a company was producing a radiation therapy machine in the early 80s with a huge software bug which would give patients insane amounts of radiation. One guy's treatment was for 6000 rads over the course of six and a half weeks and due to the bug got 18 000 in a second, then died a few months later from radiation poisoning. The manufacturer kept saying it wasn't a problem and put the machines back into service.
In my Computer Ethics class at my University, this is a case-study that is frequently cited. If you're interested in reading up on more cases of software errors having huge implications, I can cite a few from the text-book. I love twitter so much at times. I am watching the cooptional podcast, TotalBiscuit talks about this Space Diplomacy game called The Last Federation. I found out they have a twitter. I then talk about how neat The Last Federation is, and how I'm interested in streaming it and doing a video on it. 10 minutes later I get a key in my direct message box. So neat.

This fuggin guy... I'd call him out for looking so stupid but I have many other YT friends who know him. He also uses british mannerisms but has a very flat american accent.

It's like a small hipster singularity. Fedora, using numbers instead of letters, snobby indie game tag, goatee and hippie hair, parchment background. It's pressing all the wrong buttons.
It's actually part of his intro. I screenshotted it. It's in his ANIMATED intro. he is animated.
"Hey I totally love the look of @GameIwannaReview, I wish I could get a key for their game or something. I'd stream the shit out of that" - Bert being sneaky

I'm not sure if I like the new twitter layout yet.
What's twat..... I mean twitter?
A site where people can pretend others care about every insignificant detail of their life
I made a twiiter account like six years ago, read a couple posts about socks(thats all I remember) and forgot about it. Found my twitter account again like 3 months ago and then forgot about it again.
I signed up for MySpace back in 2005 and never received my confirmation email so I decided fuck it, I don't need this online social networking shit and have no idea what all this shit is.
What's twat..... I mean twitter?
i still call it twatter, more fun.

I've managed to completely avoid this whole social media bollocks. I simply don't need it. If I wanted to contact a friend I use my bloody phone and ring them or just meet them face to face... I have no desire to share a picture of my lunch on Facebook. I don't even have my businesses on Facebook or Twitter, the type of client I want won't find me through there.

For example, we have a group for out flat and it makes it easy to post things like "I'm going to tesco in half an hour, anyone want to come", which is much more efficient and less annoying than texting everyone individually, or knocking on their doors. That said, I couldn't care less for the news feed and people posting pictures of their dinner/horse/cat/dog.
My Twitter account started off as an inside joke with my sister but now I use it to follow The Iron Sheik.
Had to contact Virgin Media again about my internet problems. The guy did the exact same thing the first Virgin Media advisor did. Changed the Wireless channel then pinged BBC.co.uk then said it was done. It's not fucking done you mong, my internet is still fucking dropping every three fucking seconds.

They'll get you an engineer ASAP. They always do. The call centre is useless, I've been with them 14 years - getting a new modem out of them because the old NTL Branded Terrayon unit was not even fast enough for my connection was painful. If you have the superhub(?) I've heard sticking it into modem mode and using your own router helps things massively. Apparently they had a firmware issue, wether that has been resolved though I don't know - I'm hanging onto my NTL:250 Modem!

They sent me a new router and it has the exact same problem.
wait what did spotify remove the star feature?
wait what did spotify remove the star feature?
it's still there in a sense, but now you have to go to the drop down menu, add to list, and hit the "starred". no clue why they decided to remove the star, it was so useful

i like new spotify [editline]25th April 2014[/editline] the old one looked very dated who even uses the star feature? just make a playlist
i like new spotify [editline]25th April 2014[/editline] the old one looked very dated who even uses the star feature? just make a playlist
found it to be very convenient to have the star when I found a new cool song. one button press later, and I would have it stored forever really like the new UI though, so I can live with using the drop down menu. would be cool to see the star return later, since personally I found it very convenient
