All I'd use a 24/7 PC for is as a router. My current one is a Piece of shit.

I found it at a flea market. It's the last Power Mac g5 revision, from 2005.
I got it with no hard drive or power cable, so I don't know if it works yet.
worst case scenario you got an awesome computer case

Agreed, powermac cases look damn fine.

Cheese grater Macs are best Macs.
I really need to find a flea market.
I'd be hoarding old systems (I won't end up like pentium, promise) and if they're rarities and I manage to acquire two, I'll donate one to a museum.

Is it the dual core version? Because then we have the same one.
If you need to install OS X on it and you don't want to burn a disc, then you can get another Mac and an IDE drive and then put an installdisc-image onto the harddrive and it'll work.
[editline]26th April 2014[/editline]
The disc drive in the powermac connects with IDE, so that's where you disconnect it and put the IDE HDD instead. I only figured this out because I'm a genius.

I find it sad how my Acer laptop didn't use SATA...

Luckily it came with an OS X install cd, so that's not going to be a hassle. Also I have no idea which processor is in it, but I assume it's dualcore
I find it sad how KVM switches are so freaking expensive. All I want is DVI and USB, but I have to spend shitloads to get USB, so fuck that.

If you open it, there's a gray sticker at the bottom which details specs, serial number, etc.
Ordered a 4G sim from my provider, not really for much reason since we don't get 4G down here but I can dream.

I have the DC 2,3GHz and I put 10GB ram in it, heh

Is it PCI-X/AGP or PCI Express?
PCI-E
I love the design of that Mac Pro so much, I'd love to convert one to modern hardware, but even the case are pretty expensive and my dremel-work isn't upto that standard yet.
Additionally, those things are an absolute bitch to dremel. That metal is extremely thick and eats cutting wheels like they're candy.

Probably means you're using the wrong type of wheel for aluminium
If you're cutting a lot of material, you should use an angle grinder instead of a dremel
i found this thing again:
Anyone have experience selling on ebay? I Sold my GPU there about a week and a half ago and the delivery was confirmed a week ago, but the funds are still pending even after literally everything is done
Is this normal?
If you're new to selling, ebay will hold onto your money for a period to make sure no dispute arrises.
You will get you money in a few week's time.
I sold £3k of audio gear and it was heart-stopping when I say the pending status. All came through in the end. Just don't leave the money in Paypal.

One of my favourite shops.
Oh yeah, here's the plug I needed to find a cable for:

I've found cables online but they are kind of expensive.
Thanks for using non-standard standards Apple

You've really got to love proprietary standards in technology that give the manufacturers a chance to charge you up the arse for simple things. I think that was one of my primary motivations when I moved to PC a few years ago, standardised ports.

The Intel Mac Pros use standard IEC, much more convenient. Im still using my 2006 Mac Pro, I havent found any need to upgrade to a full new machine yet, although it hasnt had OS X on it for a long time as i lost my snow leopard disk.
Friggin' windows 8 search index filling up all the free space on my SSD. Goddamn it, I know I can fit Visual Studio on a 64GB SSD with nothing but Windows on it.

It's an IEC standard alright, but it's mostly used for servers and stuff that reminds you servers. And one revision of the Power Mac G5. All the other G5's use the regular IEC plug.
Anyone ever had a Micro USB cable that is too worn out? The standard USB end of mine has gone and its charging up pitifully slow.
