So my DSL modem has a terminal.
how bout you put it on the rubber feet like ur sposed 2 also what song is it?
Huh, that's weird. My current guess is that there's one particular thing that the open source drivers do better than AMD's closed drivers. Oh well, game performance is pretty good in Ubuntu 14.04, at least it was good when I played some TF2 earlier. The year of the Linux desktop approaches, brothers.
Reading microcomputer stuff Cubietruck, Radxa, so many choices, fuck :v:
People need to stop saying tape is dead. It's not dead and never even got close to dead. There's never ever been a better value backup medium and I guarantee you every single F500 company is using them HEAVILY.
Pretty sure a lot of music is still recorded on tape. Tape-based formats in general are great and need more love! :<
Speaking of tapes, wouldn't it be possible to bring tapes back in cinema cameras? I mean, SSDs are fucking expensive, if you could make a tape based solution you could make a great low-budget, raw shooting camera.
Pretty sure a lot of music is still recorded on tape. Tape-based formats in general are great and need more love! :<
Indeed, Up until recently digital multitrack tape was still quite common and some studios still like to use the old analogue 24-track reel-to-reel on 2-Inch Tape. Now though it's almost always "Can you send me the pro tools session". At which point you either FTP it halfway across the world or you send a HDD. Tape is great but you can't beat the convenience of digital session files. The old analogue ways are still hanging on in other ways however. There's a lot of studios still summing the mix in external hardware for that "Analogue Warmth". I'm a fan of instant recall myself especially with the stuff I handle where I could be working on a different project every day,
What's strange is that some people have weird problems like this, while some (like me) have absolutely zero issues. Its bizarre. Granted, I have a laptop that runs Vista SP2 better than 7 so anything is possible I suppose.
That's not really bizarre, that's actually the nature of an OS that runs on millions of different third party hardware configurations. Win8's solved all of my driver issues bar an old USB scanner I can't find drivers for. But it breaks stuff for a lot of people, too. At least it's not vista-at-launch incompatibility levels.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Alleged-Surface-Pro-3-specs-appear-online.115902.0.html "Leaked" (or made-up) specs if the surface 3 pro. Seems unlikely, but damn, that'd be something.

Skylake engineering samples aren't even shipping to OEMs and ODMs yet and the source says it's a 4x4 "kit" which implies (Mind you this is me interpreting this, could be entirely wrong. The chinese source kinda sucks, especially under google translate) SODIMM, which you know, the Surface doesn't use, it's soldered on as well as the fact even if it was 4 soldered on sections that would be relatively immense in area.

Yeah, it's seems like bullshit.
So today my holidays ended and I had to go to work again. In the first hour I had 6 Support situations already. What the fuck. It took 2 hours for me to finally get to desk and sit down.
Holy fuck it's taking so long to get my $120 bucks back from paypal after being scammed for that 680 and I'm not even done yet.
Swefox incident?
any of you guys have any good learning techniques? I'd love to learn stuff and get a hobby other than games, but my motivation falls short whenever I've tried to learn stuff I want to get into (programming languages mostly).
So, I'm trying to decide if I can use a tablet or not. I'm thinking of buying an 8" Windows tablet, but so far I haven't found too many things that I can do with it that my laptop works fine for. If I got an even bigger tablet, it might be good, but I also feel it'd make my laptop almost redundant. My point with getting an 8" tablet to begin with is the long battery life, super mobility and speed (And by speed I mean it takes less time to pull out and use compared to a laptop. Also, I want my laptop to live a long time and I rarely need the computational power of it, so with a tablet I could just leave the laptop at home.
Okay, wasn't up to date on the Intel roadmap. Yeah, it's seems like bullshit.
i wish surface pro 3 had the same casing and weight as a surface rt don't even care about the specs (extra battery and better pen calibration would be nice tho)

I spent like a month or two with PHP because of EVE Online (ended up not liking PHP), and I've been doing really bad Python code for an IRC bot now.

I did a python irc bot aswell. Have fun when you develop a plugin system. I still have nightmares about it. Also enjoy the encoding hell.

Wait until you get to native code plugins. You should see all methods I've made with Holly². There's a ton. Holly1 has a pretty decent, easy plugin system ( https://github.com/Wingar/Holly-Plugins ). There's just so many factors to decide on with native code plugins.

OO in Python still seems really strange to me.
Eh, I'm probably scrapping my bot and starting from scratch, take advantage of all the thinking I've been able to do whilst murdering it into pieces. I haven't even touched OO in Python, that's pretty much next on the checklist for me. Just having trouble focusing on it - the PHP shit I made last year was super-helpful to a lot of people, so I kept working on it, even though I had absolutely no fucking idea what I was doing, and the code looks like something from 2000, made for PHP4.
I'm a terrible programmer, I know. :( Edit: Merge...
I am waiting for sky lake to replace my sandy bridge i5 2500k. If at that time it is even giving you any performance boost whatsoever. Don't think broad well will do much since its just a refresh of haswell. Intel doesn't seem to care much anymore about the pc enthusiast, same goes for AMD's CPU they have been silent about am3+s future and if we gonna see a steamroller 8 core. Seems like only the gpu side of AMD and Nvidia who are actually improving, but those are also just so little jumps if we look at 1440p we can see that Some of the high end gpu's can't even run games like Crysis 3 or BF4 on ultra at that resolution with a higher framerate than about 50 fps. and they talk about 4k likes its a miracle. Fact is that atm 4k sucks on windows 8 because your interface doesn't scale at all with the resolution. Also i am looking forward to buy that 1440p G sync 120hz screen from ASUS.

https://github.com/asusgenius/HorusIRC I might plan on rewriting it aswell, once I'm done with school and have nothing else to do. Currently it uses a library to provide me with a simple base, because I'm a lazy fuck, but maybe it helps you along the way.

I should have just killed myself. I'm so throwing that code somewhere.
I love buying into outdated consoles. The games are ridiculously cheap (35p for THPS3 on PS2 at CEX!) and it's not like they're any worse. Bought the first 3 splinter cell games for £2.50 total :v: When the prices drop on the 360 I'll do the same for that. I dug out my Sega Megadrive too, I have boxed copies of the Sonic Games. I think it's time to set up a little gaming corner.

Also I recently got a tiny Zotac PC with an i5. and now it's my Media PC, and has tons of emulators going. It's freaking awesome. [editline]5th May 2014[/editline] Playing your Favourite Gameboy/SNES/Gamecube/PS1 games with an Xbox controller on a big TV is just beautiful.
