I once asked myself how japanese people can program, when programming syntax is in english.
Shortly after I felt really dumb.
I just unlocked the secrets of HD video streaming over WiFi
Apparently even though my router supports dual band, it will always use the 2.4Ghz band on auto. Forcing my router to have two SSIDs (hotspots) - one for the 2.4GHz band and one for the 5GHz one means I can connect to the (shorter range) 5GHz one for super smooth 1080p high quality streaming.
Downside is range. But my wireless device sits in the same room with my router so its not a big issue.
This will also work for PCs/consoles though the only thing I have that would support the 5GHz band and isn't just wired in via ethernet is my PS4 which I don't really use for online gaming so
Ugh for some reason my Nexus 5 loves to disconnect from my WiFi from time to time.. not sure if it's the routers fault or not..

I can't believe I own this piece of software and other versions of it legally. Without paying a cent for it.
Thank god for Dreamspark, I guess.
It is a bit overkill, though. All I know is Java.
windows font rendering to me looks like a blue/yellow pixelated mess
Windows has 2 ways of doing font smoothing for some reason:

os x is still my fave forever tho

I was on a road trip this weekend, brought my T100, the piece of shit developed a stuck pixel between Thursday and Sunday.
I'm so fucking done with Asus products.

My corsair ax 850 broke on me 3 times after that 3 rd time i got a ax 860.
Just because it breaks or is DOA doesn't mean " I am so fucking done with corsair".
Maybe you got a bad one, mine has no fault whatsoever screen is fine no dead pixels anywhere. All my keys work.
Everything works, maybe you just had bad luck?

5Ghz is lovely. Although we do have one of those home gateway/modem things, it does support 2.4/5 Ghz. However, apparently only one device in my house works with it, and that's my 8 year old Gateway on Wireless A. My GNex can sometimes see it, but I think the antenna's a little too weak. Its nice having a relatively clean wireless connection though for the laptop though.
I have a router that broadcasts both 2.4 and 5Ghz signals under the same SSID, so I'm not sure if the device is close enough it'll notice that the 5Ghz band is preferable.
I got my asus ac66u router pretty nice so far.

I technically could have named mine the same but the network name is the same with a suffix "24N" and "5N" respectively. That way I can switch between them manually.

I got the Asus RT-AC68U and it's the best fucking router I have ever seen.
-Disregard-

We talking routers?
I have a Netgear WNDR3400 as my backup band and routing to the modem and a Linksys EA4500 downgraded to use the classic setup page and serve as the modern band, both operating under the same subnet so resources are shared between the two
I highly suggest MerlinWRT for the Asus routers
I'd recommend tomato but the only build for the asus is iffy at best

The worst part is, I bought the thing in February and it was fine then. Like, I've had devices with stuck pixels before, but I've never seen them develop one after the fact.
I think Sony just learnt to not make promises they can't keep.

good thing im getting it on xbone
haha
oh
I'd get it on PC but I got it for $20 on xbone so, eH
I'd think about getting an Xbone but the fact that you *still* have to pay for Xbox Live is just beyond me. I'm just not super into PC building anymore.

I don't think it really does this is the thing.
It'll connect automatically to whatever has the strongest signal, and in most cases that will be the 2.4GHz connection unless you live in a really congested interference area from other 2.4GHz routers (the city, for example).
I thought so too but I could never get my laptop to stream high quality 1080p (as in, a file with at least above 4-8MBs bitrate) without serious buffers on my default single SSID setting. However forcing a connection to a 5GHz SSID works perfectly smooth.

You have to pay to play PS4 games online as well so yeah.
I used WiFi Analyzer on my phone to check what wifi networks are around, no one used some channels so I set my router to them and overall the WiFi was faster, less LAN latency as it seemed.
Ugh for some reason my Nexus 5 loves to disconnect from my WiFi from time to time.. not sure if it's the routers fault or not..
Mine did it too, set the connection to static IP and it fixes it

I decided to have a look at the Mac App Store. I went under Categories.. I looked at the Games category...

UNIX time is going to be 1400000000 today.
Happy 1400000000, I guess.

I wanted that too but couldn't afford it. I would've needed an adapter for it too for my computers to support it.
I got the less impressive RT-N66U but I couldn't be any happier.
So i got gifted a ASUS G74SX-A1 with a busted screen and no HDD's after dropping in a 120Gb SSD and a 750Gb WD black I now have a computer that can actually play vidya gamez made in the last decade without croaking and dying (My previous "gaming" machine was a E6300, GT430 and 2Gb of ram) it's wonderful trees actually look like trees and not vaguely tree shaped blobs of green. it doesn't stutter and bluescreen if an enemy does anything more graphically intensive than a light sneeze
