Really cool an actual pipboy 3000 that astronauts might be using in the future.
-meh, just in case- [editline]13th May 2014[/editline] I got the Asus RT-AC68U and it's the best fucking router I have ever seen.
RT-N56U reporting in. Thing's a fucking art piece.
GPU arrived 2 hours ago. I spent an hour basically rebuilding the machine so I could get the GPU to fit, and an hour wondering why the machine won't boot. I had forgotten to replug the 4-pin part of the 24-pin power connector for the motherboard, but it still won't boot. I ripped out the new RAM stick I got, and the new GPU, and now I'm forcing myself to take a break because I'm obviously not thinking straight.

Makes me wanna curl up in a ball and cry.
Houston, we have a boot. Now I just need to work slowly. This is why I took a break, relaxing always helps.
Houston, we have a boot. Now I just need to work slowly. This is why I took a break, relaxing always helps.
What was wrong stopping it from booting?
Can't wait for 4200000000
UNIX time can't go up to 4,200,000,000. It's a signed 32-bit integer!
Bought a Cubietruck Uni told us to buy a raspberry pi for some project, I figured fuckit, if I'm going to buy a tiny shitty computer I may as well buy a better tiny shitty computer :v:
What was wrong stopping it from booting?
One of the RAM modules wasn't seated correctly. Also, I now have POST and BIOS with new RAM + new GPU. The quick locks on my case don't work with the GPU though, they can't get into place to lock, I need to go buy something to tie it in and stuff, so it'll stay still. Edit: The case for the cooler hit one of my hard drives so I had to move the bottom one to the upmost slot. [t]http://i.imgur.com/EZMMt2f.jpg[/t]
My phone sucks at calculating.
You have to pay to play PS4 games online as well so yeah.
Do you really? Ah, shit. Guess 8th gen can go fuck itself, then. [editline]13th May 2014[/editline] Also, I like how when I change my work password, email functionality continues to work despite not updating Outlook's credentials. It uses different credentials than my Windows login, so it doesn't automatically aggregate from that.
Done. That took like what, 3-4 hours? And now I can kick a PS4's ass easily. I think. Time to run stuff.
Phantom touches on my T100. I am so getting rid of this piece of shit and never buying another Asus tablet again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...
Just purchased the most cheapest Gigabyte 750TI at $200. Finally time to get of this HD7790 train wreck.
I was going to comment on the price, but then I checked your flagdog and figured you're probably fucked almost as badly as Australia, and then I checked the exchange rate between your currency and USD.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...
Why don't you return/replace it then? You probably have a duff unit, or it got damaged somehow, gaining a stuck pixel then getting phantom touches seems a sure sign that the screen has had an impact or pressure at some time.

So now I'm stuck with dealing with Asus, and my extent of their support previously has been "well I dunno, not a problem as far as I can tell."
Oh yeah NZ get's fucked hard by electronics. Plus the GST tax we get doesn't help.
such is life outside the USA I had to shell out $912 for my 780Ti, if I had bought it at Newegg I would have gotten it for $710
My GPU was pretty reasonable, even when you think about the sales tax, and I get functional health care from the taxes too.

Fool me twice...
seems to be a widespread issue on asus tablets see it on every store model, and my dad had to get his me400c repaired [editline]13th May 2014[/editline] asus did repair it for free tho [editline]13th May 2014[/editline] considering that this literally makes the device unusable - it really does - they fucking have to do something about it.

I forgot US gets pretty shafted with consumer rights. The sales of goods act covers us for two years, and there is EU legislation that goes even longer.
Oh wow Tessellation is so beautiful I feel like I just had a spiritual experience
T100's are supposed to be the cheapest of the cheap aren't they? You get what you pay for. I'm so glad I didn't end up getting one.
I bought a TF201 and it has the exact same problem, Asus tablets are just pieces of shit I found that very gently bending away from the screen helps fix it for a while. Grab the edge of the case on the side the touches are on, hold the opposite side with your other hand, fingers under the tablet, and GENTLY press up, like you're trying to separate the screen from the case. If that doesn't work, blood sacrifice [editline]14th May 2014[/editline] Seriously, gently. The objective isn't to bend the screen [editline]14th May 2014[/editline] To further explain, your fingers on the problem side should only be touching the side of the case, not the glass Alternatively you can try taking the screen off a little and reseating it, that might be safer and more productive
my only complaint about Asus is that their Android devices haven't received any of the promised android upgrades. a patch from them also fried my phones motherboard a while back, luckily they repaired it for free even though it had obviously been rooted.
My only complaint about Asus is that their build quality is horrible, their service is worse (THREE MONTHS), and their products are usually overpriced for the specs. I'm never buying from them again, period.
If I timed it right, the timestamp for this post is 1400000000 UNIX time. Don't think Facepunch exposes timestamps anywhere though, lame.
Happy 1400000000! [editline]13th May 2014[/editline] Fuck you
I've had an Asus motherboard in my system since I got it two years ago. Had an Asus GTX 760 since October and is holding up fine. Did consider an Asus monitor but got a small Samsung HDTV instead. I get the feeling I would of looked like a quite a fanboy had I got it.
Happy 1400000000! [editline]13th May 2014[/editline] Fuck you
Empirical evidence that Firefox is faster than Chrome.

They even paid the postage (By DHL) to send it to them. Got it back within 2 weeks IIRC. My experience has been that Corsair have horrible service, not because they are slow. but because they make you pay to return the product even if it was a manufacturing fault. How do they make up for it? They give you an upgraded product. But it still cost an arm and a leg to send a pair of corsair CX power supplies to the Netherlands.
