Your country is weird. In norway we have 3 years of warranty standard.
For example my gpu broke hd 7950 send it back get a 280x matrix.
Or power supply AX 850 3 times in a row get back a AX 860.
Seem like Every country outside Europe is hostile to Consumers.
I have a manufacturer warranty, but a retail return policy is generally less of a hassle than sending it to the manufacturer.

I've never had that happen to me on OS X
I've never had that happen to me on OS X
Seems to be a multi monitor and OSX issue. Does not happen on Windows to me.
Changed all my Pidgin icons with Android themed ones.
I'm quite content.
holy fuck lightroom is the heaviest piece of software i've ever used, that has so little functionality
lightroom doesn't have 'little functionality'. that isn't why photo professionals world over use it
it can tag pictures on a map and change contrast on them
it shouldn't lag this much, even with an i5 + 16gb ram
or is it not made to handle 6k photos at a time?
click the big develop button near the top and realise that you're stupid
[editline]14th May 2014[/editline]
lightroom is designed to streamline photography workflows and archives. that means working in specific colourspaces and doing technical photo developing/editing past what photoshop can do; it isn't just 'changing contrast'
also, why are you putting 6000 photos in to one library/catalog? right now with my 2014 catalog open lightroom is using 20% CPU and 160MB of ram, i wouldn't call that heavy by any stretch for an adobe product
40% cpu here and 4gb ram
Yeah I know it's pretty advanced, and I use the raw tools, but god damn

Are you for real?
Speaking of routers, I got my MikroTik today. The power supply that it came with was DOA, but I went out to The Source and got an overpriced one that works fine, I'll probably get a better, cheaper one later if the distributor can't replace the PSU for me. Gotta love 30 day return policies...
When I fired up telnet to check out the command line, I wasn't expecting it to be this nifty. It colour codes a bunch of stuff. Like if you're typing a command that doesn't exist, it changes your text to red.

I haven't had a chance to play around with many of the features yet, since this thing does so goddamn much. I don't think I'll be implementing BGP or MPLS in my house, but it's nice that the options are there. The wifi on it is insane though. My Linksys E2000 gets maybe 1 or 2 bars when I'm sitting inside my car in the driveway, though the MikroTik is still rock solid full bars.
"printer alignment failed"
HP I SWEAR TO GOD
Printers are Satan incarnate, our Dell printer pulls that header misalignment bullshit a lot, too.
And it's one of those fancy schmancy ones that are all W-LAN that don't need no cables and has all these cool doodads and can do so much shit at the same time yet the printer function STILL suffers from all the same problems a 10 dollar fucking printer would have
Including the whole "low on ink" shit it keeps printing out. WELL IF THAT INK IS SO LOW AND SACRED, WHY ARE YOU WASTING IT PRINTING OUT THIS BULLSHIT WHEN YOU HAVE A GOD DAMN COLOR LCD SCREEN YOU COULD TELL ME ON INSTEAD!!?? Best part is when it can't print a colorless document, because the color ink is low.
Fuck you, printers.
Oh well, at least all the other functions work very nicely. :/
Well, nicely until it gets to the part where it needs to print something.
I just give up and go to the Kinkos
it's not my job to maintain the sacks of user-hostile shit that are printers so i'm going to have as little contact with them as possible
Well my mom bought one because before then we didn't have anything, and every time she wanted to print something out she'd have to go to work and use the chaos lord printer there. (Name referring to that it's caught on fire while she was using it once)
But since she retired she can't just walk in all willy nilly and use the printer, even if her previous co-workers would happily allow her, the higher ups wouldn't like it.
And we kind of live paycheck to paycheck so wasting gas to go to a place just to print out a couple of things every now and then isn't worth it. v:v:v
It's not as bad as I made it seem though, it doesn't pull that crap as much as it used to right after we bought it, and the automatic header alignment that it does actually works pretty damn well. Guess it just needed worn in. I just felt like ranting because if the past experiences we've had with printers before this one.

I don't understand why this is at all noteworthy.
The video certainly offers nothing convincing.
Why are printers so god-awful to begin with? Once I broke my school's Ricoh Aficio MP-C4500 because I wanted to print a stapled document. Damn paper jammed on a part where the user can't get access to unless dismantling the entire machine. The machine was down for days for repair after that.
I fear when 3D printers become mainstream.
2D printers are already shitty as hell, so adding a third dimension seems like a recipe for disaster.

If the Dell one is that bad, HP's would be 10GB with Filament costing $200 per KG.
That's why i'm happy i got an ~10 year old HP printer. Plug and play, no other functions, never fails.
For the very few times i need to print shit (DnD sheets, reports and pictures of smurfs, so on) it's amazing
If the Dell one is that bad, HP's would be 10GB with Filament costing $200 per KG.
The Brother printer would mostly work okay, but take a whole day to set up, go through a cleaning cycle after every layer and take an hour to transfer data to it

tahw
Going to a large party on the other side of the country over the weekend and it has a superhero theme. Me being lazy and not wanting to spend money, i'm making a cape from a towel, an emplem from an printed and then modified smurf picture and some kind of mask.
So everything has a rational explanation
