I hate in school when we have to explain why something is right or wrong. It's like, I know this is wrong and this is right, but how the fuck do I explain it
When in doubt, act really offended and accuse your teacher of racism.
Try out Windows phone then...
I remember trying out a Windows Phone once. Frankly the interface felt weird. It's an example of a good place for Metro, but I just don't like it at all out of personal preference (and I'm a GNOME 3 user on the desktop for comparison).
The main reason I want to get off of Android ASAP is the Google reliance it more or less enforces. I'm weird like that and is the reason why I don't use YouTube, gMail, and so on. I know about Replicant, but I don't know if it would support my device (LG Motion 4G) nor want to risk something using it.
I've heard about Tizen, but not of a device sold that uses it with searches only saying of devices to be released a year ago. The advantage of Firefox OS is that its software would be reliant on web technologies and assorted APIs to interact with the operating system. Unfortunately, that is also the con of it. In the end, the ability to be able to install whatever you want on your phone would be nice but is only a pipe dream.
How would I learn to type faster? My WPM is 58 according to some site I just tested it on. (No, I don't have the money for a mechanical keyboard)

Type more.
Typing of the Dead is also a fairly good practice, although it focuses more on accuracy than speed IMO.
Also 58WPM isn't all that bad.

Keep your fingers roughly on the home-row and write things a lot.
Full-depth keyboards seem to help, too. On my Sidewinder X4 I always made a good amount of mistakes but I upgraded to a $10 Lite-on keyboard and can erk out 90-100wpm writing things and close to 120 doing one of those stupid typing tests.

practice a lot, not really much else to it afaik
Learn a proper typing technique if you don't already.
It's just like learning a musical instrument, speed comes with correct technique.
God damn it. I have the text display size on my desktop turned up to 150% because living room tv, but it turns out that makes civ5 freak out and not display properly, making menus unclickable etc.
:(

Seems to be working after restarting the game, but fullscreen isnt an option unless I turn down the scaling.

I believe if you go into the properties of the .exe you can disable DPI/text scaling for it.
I type at about 80 wpm using a sort of gaming hand position.
(Left - Right)
Shift-A-W-F-Space Space-K-O-P-Enter
I never really learned - sometime when I was 11 or so I kinda just started touch typing without any input.
grr, for some reason Chrome completely dies when browsing Facepunch. problem solved after switching to a 64bit version of Chromium, but that can't play Flash videos, nor does it support H.264.
any good chromium flavors out there? I found something called Iron which is pretty much Chrome, just without any Google stuff which works much better than regular Chrome.
how do you guys think people manage to compress an image this much? i've been trying to find out for the past like month or so and i just can't figure it out. it has to be so simple because so many facebook images look like this.

Heh thats at the top of my feed right now
a lot of horrid resizing and re-saving.
Not sure what exactly does this
I do 110-125WPM with an extremely complicated technique of "Oh god just hit the fucking buttons I have 10 fingers gogo go gogo go go go og og og og ogo go go goo oog og og og og og g o"

I was thinking maybe instagram does this through people saving the image and reuploading, but i dunno.

For some reason at work, I sometimes have to use my personal phone to make customer calls. Our landlines sometimes think a correct number is disconnected or in some cases route to the wrong fucking destination. I thought POTS was supposed to be reliable.

I think with this, you have the generation loss from repeated lossy encoding as well as resizing + Instagram filters in the mix.

Anyone have any idea what the hell might be causing this? :v:
Did he spill something on it?

Just decided to do a WPM test.

Not bad, I thought I was worse than this.
Everyone at my school tells me I type ridiculously fast. Well I don't know, to my idea I type kinda slow, and these terrible Acer keyboards at my school fuck up my typing accuracy.
I love how I can read that.

I did 105ish on my old keyboard which was non mechanical. I got to 118WPM after having this mechanical keyboard for a while. I was simply having issues with the keys not popping up quickly enough before. It doesn't sound like you've reached that point though.
I love how I can read that.
Kinda reminds me of this thing:

Holy shit I finally managed to create an Atom build for windows.
After such a long time of fucking around. Now I finally have a Virtual machine to compile my own builds.
The Editor seems to get better after every version.

First try, no warming up.

I had a shitty posture though, I think I could have done maybe a little better.
Also, I like the start of the filename.
and Firefox OS is scarcely even in the US.
There is a developer device with slightly better specs than the Moto E launching this week or next for $170.
I'm hoping a bunch of OS'es have first class support for HTML5 apps so people can choose whichever OS suits them best without worrying what apps are going to work on it.
