I tweeted something today and suddenly
In broadcasting, it's actually 720p at 30fps, not 60fps. 60 fps is only for 1080i since 60 interlaced frames would make 30 frames when de-interlaced into progressive scan which is pretty easy to do on most video editors.
What? In the US we have 720p at 60fps commonly. And 1080i at 60 fields. Atleast in my area of south florida.

You sure about that? I don't watch TV very often, but if I remember correctly even the 720p channels ran at a high framerate.

Here in Denmark we have 576i, 720p and 1080i. Although I gotta say our TV does a good job at deinterlacing.
i'm a little bitch for cuts, fuck getting a real razor, i'm good with my electrical one, even if it itches

You all don't have HD Broadcasts in Sweden? We have plenty of 1080i and 720p broadcasts over the air here in Florida atleast. Maybe 45 stations. Though half are in spanish since we have a large spanish speaking population.

well i only have like 10 channels that comes with the apartment, none are hd
i don't even know how that'd work, do antenna cables support hd?

Of course they do. Its all digital now by law in the US except for low power stations and they have the bandwidth, so why not? Most terrestrial broadcast channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, PBS) all broadcast in HD over the air for free. They often even include SD subchannels alongside the HD one with additional programming. Usually some smaller TV networks like thisTV or some other local syndicate station that broadcast reruns of cable shows.
The antenna just needs to support UHF I think for HD broadcasts. You can use old antennas with newer digital tv's no problem.
that's pretty cool
i never watch tv though, too many ads, no ondemand stuff and terrible quality
i don't even know why i have a 50" tv, i never use it. or a sofa that takes up half my livingroom

i don't play games anymore, i find no fun in them
but now when i have a new gpu that can handle 2+ monitors i can finally use my tv without changing settings and killing direct3d

Aw yiss. It's mono and composite only, but it's so much better than a 32" LCD.
I think I have R4 laying around here somewhere as well
So I had a thought recently.
Has anyone ever made a DRAM controller that is aware (via hooks in the OS) of which memory ranges are allocated, and which are unallocated, and uses that information to only refresh memory that is actually in use? That would save some power - probably not much, all things considered, but I don't see any downside to it other than complexity. It might actually boost performance a bit by cutting down on refreshes.

oh shit malwarebytes what are you doing
not only do you have the worst software updater ever created, but now it also looks like adware from 2004
i hate ui's that dont look anywhere near native (most of the time)
Why does my desktop fps become laggy when I have a youtube video running on my other monitor? My systems way more than able to cope with everything I'm doing so why does it dip to below 60?

When someone showed me the new malwarebytes i was legitimately convinced that it was one of those fake knockoffs and proceeded to reinstall malwarebytes to find out that it was real
I actually kind of like the new UI. looks more modern than the previous UI in my opinion

Looks like I got some sort of incorrect information from somewhere. I thought 720p in broadcasting was at 30 frames per second. Turns out it's actually 60 frames per second.

According to some random news website I've never seen in my life, Catalyst 14.6 comes out "tomorrow" and gives 25% more performance in Watch_Dogs, and more performance in some other games.
I hope the article isn't bullshit, I've just never seen the website before, I think.

Typically the station is always broadcasting a specific framerate, the content inside of it is conformed to it. So you might be watching something at 30fps but it's inside of a 60fps stream.
So my ultrabook has 20GB of SSD space inbuilt in the motherboard. It used to be used for caching, but as I now have a SSD in there, that need sort of disappeared. I'd like to link it to my main hard drive for storage. Is this possible?
Making 30fps into 60fps is easy, they just duplicate each frame twice to fill it.
I'm trying to make a poster on the mathematics of RSA when I haven't even taken AP Calc or anything related to modular arithmetic.

RSA isn't too hard, but if you have to be 100% accurate with the poster, not happening.
The concept of RSA is easy, but trying to wrap your head around the math if you don't have experience is painful.

You don't learn number theory in AP calc or any high school courses anyways. Just google what you don't understand, basic modular arithmetic concepts used in RSA isn't that hard.
