i need to go to ikea for a new desk this summer. so fucking tired of this wood door with paint chipping everywhere. the paint gets really sticky sometimes too.
Ikea desks have this really thin laminate-paint-over-light-composite-material-that's-not-actually-wood that scratches at the slightest whiff of a hard object so you have to be fairly careful around them
Snip. Might have missed a joke
So I have to learn AfterEffects for work because I'm going to be doing work with it now for some reason. Goddamn this is quite possibly the easiest professional grade program I have ever used. Adobe needs to make a 3D modeling/animation program.
I ordered a Chromecast a few hours ago. Woo me.
I've ordered a $100 device that you people will soon find out because it'll be a surprise. Woo me.
I've ordered a $100 device that you people will soon find out because it'll be a surprise. Woo me.
which bad dragon did you order
which bad dragon did you order
I said said device. Not a fucking play toy. [editline]30th May 2014[/editline] Besides, I don't want a bank statement to say, 'BAD DRAGON CORPORATION' in teletype.

Even on the invoice it says "Silicone sculpture".
Hey, they're really discreet about that shit. Even on the invoice it says "Silicone sculpture".
I wonder if anyone ever bought one thinking it was art
Ikea desks have this really thin laminate-paint-over-light-composite-material-that's-not-actually-wood that scratches at the slightest whiff of a hard object so you have to be fairly careful around them
Well my desk is from IKEA and its been in this house for at least five years now.(Was my brothers when he had the room I'm in) Its only now in the last few years that the paintwork has started to come off revealing this brown colour under it. The corners are wearing down where I face my screen and the side covers are now peeling off revealing the wood under neigh it. Its still a functional desk mind you but it is starting to look a bit battered.
I wonder if anyone ever bought one thinking it was art
I would imagine a bust of Abraham Lincoln made out of silicone. [editline]30th May 2014[/editline] Just the idea of taking it to someone's head to knock them out to do just that but watch as the sculpture just bounce away.
I'd imagine it would be doing other things rather than slapping someone in the face with it, but I suppose it's in the realm of possibility.
I'd even buy something from bad dragon just to slap somebody in the face with it. it'd be better than smack-cam that's for sure.
I need a new desk too. Mine is over 10 years old and is slowly chipping away. I also need a new computer desk but Ikea doesn't have any good ones :/
I got a pretty nice desk from Amazon by Piranha Trading. Cost about £80, is awesome.
ikea is cool because it's all cheap and kind of ok build quality but i wouldn't depend on their furniture
ikea is cool because it's all cheap and kind of ok build quality but i wouldn't depend on their furniture
I agree, for non essential furniture ikea is great, but after the bed collapsing incident, I'm a little more wary about stuff that carries a lot of weight.
Ikea is basically the Walmart of furniture [editline]30th May 2014[/editline] Like how I consider Rosewill to be the Walmart of computer parts
I prefer Ikea for their desks. But anything bed-wise or chests, I prefer ones sold elsewhere instead of Ikea (they're crap at those, honestly...)
Ikea meatballs are awesome. I once invited someone to dinner and we both went to Ikea for food.
i went to ikea for meatballs on my birthday
I don't think I've ever been to an Ikea, and if I have then I have no memory of it.
Am I the only person here who has never had any of the food from IKEA? (Also, I have a bunch of shelves from there. They're good shelves.)
I never brought any of the food back home. It's always eaten there or at the car. Even the frozen stuff I've never bought.
Ikea Hotdogs are amazing. 1 fucking buck for a hotdog. Thats the cheapest best food.
$1.50 here with a drink. Costco for the same price gives me a bigger hot dog to chew on
I went there and had an English breakfast with my dad, was pretty damn nice.
$1.50 here with a drink. Costco for the same price gives me a bigger hot dog to chew on
i love costco pizza
Mondays are my favourite day of college since I have an hour and a half break so I can go down to the local Asda and just buy everything.
i love costco pizza
I never had Costco pizza yet... Costco poutine was pretty nice but recently they decreased the size of the tray hence less fries :(
Has anyone here worked at a Microcenter before? Im applying cause they have an open position in ny.
Hey, they're really discreet about that shit. Even on the invoice it says "Silicone sculpture".
You would know.
