Ikea desks have this really thin laminate-paint-over-light-composite-material-that's-not-actually-wood that scratches at the slightest whiff of a hard object so you have to be fairly careful around them

Well my desk is from IKEA and its been in this house for at least five years now.(Was my brothers when he had the room I'm in) Its only now in the last few years that the paintwork has started to come off revealing this brown colour under it. The corners are wearing down where I face my screen and the side covers are now peeling off revealing the wood under neigh it.
Its still a functional desk mind you but it is starting to look a bit battered.

Just the idea of taking it to someone's head to knock them out to do just that but watch as the sculpture just bounce away.
I'd imagine it would be doing other things rather than slapping someone in the face with it, but I suppose it's in the realm of possibility.
I'd even buy something from bad dragon just to slap somebody in the face with it.
it'd be better than smack-cam that's for sure.

I got a pretty nice desk from Amazon by Piranha Trading. Cost about £80, is awesome.
ikea is cool because it's all cheap and kind of ok build quality but i wouldn't depend on their furniture

I agree, for non essential furniture ikea is great, but after the bed collapsing incident, I'm a little more wary about stuff that carries a lot of weight.

But anything bed-wise or chests, I prefer ones sold elsewhere instead of Ikea (they're crap at those, honestly...)
