I guess I should poke it with a lil knife or something, or peel the sticker? Working fine on the other netbook, I guess it's a connector issue :(
And lo and behold, some fuckhead tech installed Win7 Ultimate, didn't activate it, even though the laptop has a home basic key. Hate how that shit's common practice.

It equalizes the pressure between the inside of the drive and outside. If you don't have it, bad shit can happen like head crashes
Today I accidently formated my main partition while installing Windows on my Mac. I was really mad because I had a 2 Page document I had been working on but I moved on and installed Windows 8.1 (but only on the bootcamp partition) . After a while I decided to search for file recovery programs and I found Recuva and I ran it on the premade Bootcamp partition until I remembered that the Files were on the other partition so I made a NTFS partition on the other one with quick format. After that I ran Recuva on that partition and it found files from two os installs ago and the document so I was really happy after that :)

The only time I've done something like that is I had to install Home basic english on some chinese guy's computer because we didn't have a chinese image. (Nor would be able to use it if I had) Poor guy could barely read his own computer.
I kind of want to get the Coolermaster Elite 130, since I can fit my current system in there, along with an optical drive just in case I need it. And it's about half the cost of the 250d I was going to get. Only downside it doesn't come with dust filters as standard but I can get it aftermarket.
Ok so I called Rogers, my cell phone carrier, and I was asking about a free mobile data trial to test out their mobile data that's unlimited and all that. I learned that they can't give it out but what they can do is add a data plan that costs money but make it unlimited. After being on the phone for roughly 30 minutes, I came out paying $10 a month for unlimited mobile data that lasts 2 months (or billing cycles). This is 4G LTE speeds (I assume, if not I'll call it in and ask about the speed issues), unlimited for two billing cycles. I can now try using mobile data on my phone for the first time ever in an unlimited manner, doing my typical nerdy speed tests and all that for two months which will cost me only $20 in total.
Too bad it starts next Friday :v:

I'm still rocking "unlimited" 4g LTE from Verizon for 30 a month. 80 down, 50 up.

$30 a month geez that's still better than my plan :v:
I will be speed testing it every where I go. At home, at school, at the mall, on the throne, on the go. The next 1000 speed test results on the android app will be me speed testing the LTE speeds Rogers gives me for the next 2 months.
Rogers is one of the "Big 3" in Canada so their coverage and speeds are supposedly some of the best in Canada. So far, the coverage and calling is very good. I had signal pretty much everywhere I do, besides the places where it's shit for everyone and every carrier, never had a dropped call, SMS works for the most part. Now to try out their data and see how good it "really" is..
Holy fuck were being screwed over. 90 (or 135 if that third data charge wasn't a mistake) for 1gb on two lines. Fuck att.
That's 30 for just the data
That's 30 for just the data
That's still pretty damn good considering you can't get unlimited from Verizon anymore. $30 a month alone can get you unlimited everything on T-Mobile tho.
A guy I know fucked up at work. He was told to update a website, looked at our datasheet, saw that it ran on wordpress. Both him and I are paid highschool interns, so we both learn as we go. He doesn't know how to access the wordpress website, so he goes in Godaddy, the host and clicks the wordpress button. Of course, this doesn't open up the wordpress control panel, it actually installs a whole new copy of wordpress on the server, overiding the existing website. We pulled the webpages out of google's cache, but now I'm trying to figure out how to save his ass by throwing up a working copy of the website that we can at least temporarily use. We're a super small business, like 6 employees, so I don't know exactly who's going to use the website in the near future. Definitly a shitshow though.
-snip, i'm bad at device manager stuff-

Of course you lose the ability to upgrade at the subsidized price. Which doesn't seem like a big deal until you realize your paying $650 for a phone designed to only run on the Verizon network.
That's sort of the dilemma that I'm facing. I still have GNex which is really starting to show its age performance-wise (the cellular radio is getting more shit as time goes on too), but if upgrade at a price I can afford, I lose unlimited. Of course, I'm not the owner of the account so really its up to whatever my parents decide.

I have a dummy plan for $10 a month on the family plan that I use for upgrades. Sucks that it's more money, but cheaper than as you said buying a $650 phone.
[editline]30th May 2014[/editline]
Plus that gives me a backup phone for emergencies

You can always sell an unlocked phone on ebay when you want to upgrade to recoup some of the cost
You can always sell an unlocked phone on ebay when you want to upgrade to recoup some of the cost
I do that when I get a new phone before the 2 years. I've switched back and forth a bit, I usually end up paying about the same out of pocket either way.
So this happened to my computer today...

NA plugs are horrible. They come out of the socket with minimal effort and you guys never even have a basic switch on them.
