Emulation isn't always perfect, especially sound. Also, I'm sure he has lots of games you can find the roms for.
Considering a lot of the games covered by him tend to be obscure games, it's more likely that he'd encounter emulation problems.
If I recall correctly, Action 52 has some games that don't work in most emulators (and some games that won't work on real hardware but will work in emulators.)

5 years of development means the Sony beats the Panasonic in terms of picture quality, screen quality, and stabilizer effectiveness. The Panasonic only beats the Sony's picture in very dim lighting, but not by much. Damn dood.
even phones probably have better quality video than that old thing. I'd still use that old thing over a phone if I can tho, that zoom, better audio, manual controls and what not.
Sadly if working in video is anything like audio I'd rather turn up with the big ass old thing. For some reason people just take you more seriously if you have an impressive looking bit of kit.
If I turn up to a job with a little analogue mixer I get people peering over my shoulder and "You need more X in Y". If I turn up with my 32 Channel Digital mixer I get nothing. Even though for that particular job the little analogue thing was the ideal tool.
It sounds stupid but I've encountered this at every bloody level in the music industry. It's only when you are working alongside professionals that this disappears.
Not that I let others dictate what equipment I use in a given situation but that's just something I've observed.
Well he could always run the games in an emulator and record off that, I've had pretty good results playing Mega Drive games in such a manner. Should also sort out the analogue and composite video artefact crap nicely as well.

I dunno about other people but I actually like knowing that the gameplay i'm seeing comes from the actual hardware, i'm sure he likes it better too. Games back then weren't really supposed to look like they do in the pic you posted.

Yeah, don't me wrong the HMC150 is still a very capable camera but the picture lacks detail compared to even a modest 720p recording phone. It's really nice to use, except for the terrible screen which I wouldn't even have considered acceptable back in 08. The viewing angles are terribad.
How plausible would it be for me to sell everything I own except for a bag or two of clothing and buy a one way ticket to another country and start my life over?

Using an external monitor once and you'll wish you had one everyone, or could buy or rent it.
Since that Panasonic has hdmi out, it may be clean hdmi so you could use a hdmi external recorder and get better footage than what is internally processed and written onto the sd cards.

We use one of those cameras as a supplement for our ENGs for production, guess you can't really jam an SDI connector on the small camera.
All our cameras are pretty old though, waiting for some kind of upgrade some time.

Right most ENG even has an entire column of dead pixels D:

I often wonder the same.

No, what makes you think that?

Pretty plausible? Would you change your name/erase your previous identity as well?

The Canon XF105 is a small camera and has HD-SDI out.
You can tell those ENG cameras are old if it has a rubber lens hood.

depends on where to and how much cash tbh
wouldn't recommend as a course of action if there are other options available though

What brings you to that decision?
Pepper;45002415']What brings you to that decision?
Boredom. Depression with where I am in life. I could pull out about 3-5 grand out of everything I own.
Pretty plausible? Would you change your name/erase your previous identity as well?
No I wouldn't. I would still be the same person, maintain contact with everyone from my "old life" just a new locale.

This is definitely Newegg's fault. Keep pushing newegg about it and then they'll eventually comply. Try speaking to a supervisor too if the regular dumb representative isn't helpful.

Plausible if you put in the time to get a work visa.
I've been looking at getting a Nexus 7 tablet, is there anything else I should check out in that price range?

$5K is nowhere near enough to start a new life (hell, my "in case of emergency" savings are bigger than that). And it doesn't sound like that would solve your problems anyways.

a change of scenery really helps a ton, at least when it comes with depression.
I'd still advice against selling everything you have to move on though. it really is a gamble. either it won't work out and you won't have anything, or it'll work out. better to save up money, then move.

Ooh, that GPU cooler looks cool. I wonder if it works with regular CPU cooling blocks - so I could use it with that insane custom loop I want to build.
Anyone here want a copy of Frozen Synapse on Steam? I have an extra copy.
